After a nourishing breakfast at the lodge, we begin our day with a short canoe ride across the Arajuno River toward a protected primary forest. Led by a native Amazonian guide, you’ll walk deep into the rainforest on a 2.5–3 hour interpretive hike.
During this adventure, you may spot playful monkeys, colorful jungle birds, and unique native plants. Your guide will explain the traditional uses of medicinal plants, vines, and natural remedies that local communities have relied on for generations.

Amazonian Kichwa Cultural Encounter

In the afternoon, we visit a local Kichwa community to learn about their daily life and long-lasting relationship with the rainforest. This experience offers a rare glimpse into the human heart of the Amazon—something you can’t find on any map.

You’ll learn how the famous chicha de yuca is prepared and take part in its creation before tasting this traditional ceremonial beverage. We’ll also try some authentic local dishes and enjoy a beautiful dance performance by the community’s children.
Handicrafts made by local artisans will be available for purchase, helping support sustainable community projects and preserving cultural traditions.

After breakfast, we begin our journey toward the charming city of Baños. Our route leads us through several Amazonian towns—Fátima, Puyo, Río Negro, and Río Verde—each offering unique landscapes that reveal the transition from rainforest to Andes foothills.

Handicraft Stop: Casa de la Balsa

We make a relaxing stop at Casa de la Balsa, a small handicraft store where local artisans work with balsa wood—one of the most important economic resources in this region.

Casa del Árbol – Swing at the End of the World

Elevation: 2,660 m / 8,727 ft

Next, we visit the iconic Casa del Árbol, one of Ecuador’s most famous viewpoints. Originally built as a lookout to monitor the activity of the Tungurahua Volcano (Mama Tungurahua), it has become a must-see site for travelers.

Free Time in Baños – Adventure Capital of Ecuador

After checking into your hotel, you’ll have free time to explore Baños at your own pace. This lively town is known for:

• The Neo-Gothic Basilica (built in 1904)

• Beautiful plazas, cafés, restaurants, and craft shops

Waterfalls, Adventure & Return to Quito

Hike to the Devil’s Cauldron Waterfall (Pailón del Diablo)

Begin your final day with one of Ecuador’s most spectacular natural wonders: the Devil’s Cauldron Waterfall. This massive cascade releases enough water to fill an Olympic swimming pool in just one hour, creating an unforgettable display of power and beauty.

As you hike down the lush trail, you’ll walk alongside the roaring green river that feeds the falls. The path leads to a suspension bridge over 100 meters (328 ft) above the canyon—an incredible viewpoint where you can feel the mist and the strength of the waterfall beneath you. It’s a perfect spot for epic photos and videos that capture the raw force of the Andes.

Glide Over the Pastaza River to the Bride’s Mantle Waterfall

Next, we head to the beautiful Bride’s Mantle Waterfall, located at the edge of Llanganates National Park. To reach the viewpoint, you’ll glide across the Pastaza River in a tarabita (cable car), a thrilling ride that floats you above the canyon.

On the other side, take a short walk to spot native orchids, bromeliads, and local plants carefully protected by the communities that live in this mountainous region. This is one of the most scenic and peaceful stops of the entire journey.

Taste Traditional Melcochas (Sugarcane Candy)

Before leaving Baños, we stop at a traditional melcocha shop to watch artisans pull and stretch freshly made sugarcane taffy by hand. This beloved treat is a Baños tradition—soft, sweet, and perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. You can taste samples and buy a few to take home.

Return to Quito

After a memorable journey through the Amazon Rainforest and the Andes, we begin our drive back to Quito. We can drop you off anywhere in the city or directly at the airport for your convenience.
