Day 1 Dashoguz - Kunyaurgench - Darvaza
Meeting tourists at Border “Dashoguz”. Passing customs and migration control. Lunch in local cafe. Drive to Kunyaurgench (105 km).
Visiting State historical reserve “Ancient Kunyaurgench” - huge complex with ruins and monuments of modern Kunyaurgench. Famous scientists, like Ali Biruni, Avicenna had worked here. City fight back against army of Genghis Khan. From that period exists only couple of architectural monuments and buildings, but many major part of monuments explored and studied. This place is still holy for the Muslims.
Drive to Darvaza (250 km, 5-6 hours). Gas Crater at Darvaza is located in the middle of Karakum desert and it’s a huge burning hole with the long flames. Light of the flames are seen many kilometers from. Explore the place. Dinner (barbeque). Overnight at tent camp.
Day 2 Darvaza - Ashgabat
Breakfast. Drive to Ashgabat (250 km). On the way stops in Yerbent village On the way stops in Yerbent village- settled village, very colorful, bright example of former nomadic life of Turkmen tribes. Accommodation in hotel. Lunch. City tour – visit places of interest: National Museum of Turkmenistan, State historical reserve “Nissa” UNESCO world heritage, Memorial Complex in Kypchak village, sight seen city tour with visiting parks and squares, “Gulistan Bazar”, also known as a “Russian Bazar”. Dinner. Drive back to hotel, overnight in hotel.
Day 3 Ashgabat -Маry -Меrv - Маry
Transfer to airport. Flight to Mary. Breakfast. Drive to Bayramali (30 km). Tour around State Historical Reserve “Ancient Merw” – “Queen of the World” were one of the important capitals of Islam, alongside with Bagdad, Cairo and Damask. The most prosperity of Merw was XI-XII centuries, when it were capital of Great Seljuk Empire. Their Empire stretched from Amuderya river until the Mediterranean Sea. Seljuk’s Merw occupied more 640 hectares and were one of the prosperous cities of that period. It attracted scientists and traders from all world of Islam. However, Merw couldn’t resist assaults of Mongols in 1221, and were totally demolished with all marvelous monuments and invaluable libraries. Ruins of Ancient Merv spread more than 70 м2, far beyond the firstly city district. Drive back to Mary. Lunch. Visit Museum of Ethnography of Mary Region. Accommodation in hotel. Time on your own. Dinner with folk show. Overnight in hotel.
Day 4 Маry - Turkmenabat - Farap
Breakfast. Drive to Turkmenabad (280 km 4 hours). Visit ancient fortress Amul. Lunch. Drive to border “Farap” (45 km) across Amuderya river. Passing customs and migration control. End of tour.
