Explore the fascinating history and breathtaking coastal beauty of Kilwa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  This 4-day tour takes you through ancient Swahili ruins, pristine beaches, and rich cultural experiences,  making it the perfect blend of history, relaxation, and adventure.

Cancellation Policy

  1. 48+ Hours Before Tour Date: Full refund minus the non-refundable deposit (if applicable).
  2. 24-48 Hours Before Tour Date: 50% refund.
  3. Less than 24 Hours / No Show: No refund.
  4. Rescheduling: Allowed once at no extra cost if requested 48+ hours before the tour date. Subject to availability.

Children Policy

  1. Ages 0-3: Free of charge (must be accompanied by an adult).
  2. Ages 4-10: 50% of the adult price.
  3. Ages 11+: Full adult price.
  4. All children must be under the supervision of an adult throughout the tour.

Day1

Dar es salaam to Kilwa

7:00 AM: Depart from Dar es Salaam and enjoy a scenic drive to Kilwa (approximately 5-6 hours). 

1:00 PM: Arrive in Kilwa and check in to your lodge. 

2:00 PM: Enjoy lunch and relax. 

4:00 PM: Take a guided tour of Kilwa Masoko and its local market, followed by a beach sunset. 

7:00 PM: Dinner and overnight at your lodge. 

Day 2

Kilwa Kisiwani Historical Tour

8:00 AM: After breakfast, take a dhow ride to Kilwa Kisiwani, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Explore the ancient ruins, including the Great Mosque, Husuni Kubwa (the Great  Palace), and other historical landmarks. Learn about Kilwa’s role in the Indian Ocean trade. 

1:30 PM: Picnic lunch by the ruins. 

3:00 PM: Return to your lodge and enjoy leisure time on the beach. 

7:00 PM: Dinner and overnight at your lodge. 

Day 3

Songomnara and Local Village Tour

8:00 AM: After breakfast, take a boat to Songo Mnara Island. Explore this archaeological treasure,  featuring well-preserved ruins of a Swahili town. 1

2:30 PM: Return to the mainland for lunch. 

3:00 PM: Visit a local village to experience Swahili culture, traditional crafts, and storytelling. 

6:00 PM: Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. 

Day 4

Beach Relaxation & Return to Dar es salaam

8:00 AM: After breakfast, enjoy some free time at the beach or visit a local handicraft market. 

11:00 AM: Check out and begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam. 

5:00 PM: Arrive in Dar es Salaam for drop-off at your location.
