When thinking of migration lots of people think of the river crossing phase but there is more to it than just that, Serengeti migration involves a lot of action all throughout the year and there is a lot to see than just the thousands of animals making their way through rivers 

One of the mysterious events in Serengeti that involves these ancient beast is the famous calving season, this is when thousands of cubs are born in one duration, usually the birthing time takes places between January and February with march and April months being used as the time to tend to the young ones and prepare them for a long journey ahead in search of much better pastures after the dry season kicks in 

This mind-blowing event takes place in the southern part of Serengeti and the northern western part of Ngorongoro conservation area, it is believed the animals prefer this area for reproduction because of the nutritious soil in the area which leads to the presence of healthy grasses full of needed minerals for their young ones, the nature of the grasses also allows them to spot their enemies who tirelessly prey for their curbs

To have a tour around this area will give you an opportunity to view the most action and dramatic exchange between the mothers protecting their young ones while the predators charge with full force to get an easy meal

Day 1

Arusha – Ngorongoro (ndutu area)

A new day of exploring and enjoying yourself in the magical land of Tanzania, get your healthy breakfast early and start driving towards the ndutu area, the drive will pass by the scenic land around the Ngorongoro conservation area, here you will get a chance to interact with some Maasai people. 

After arrival at the area, you will marvel at the endless plains filled with the wildebeests, while others are protecting their young one’s others will be busy protecting and making sure they don’t lose their curbs to vicious predators. The whole day will be spent exploring around here and you will spend the evening in one of the campsite / lodge

Day 2

Full day ndutu area

Full day of game driving in the area, exploring this vast land teemed with animals. The calving season is mainly exciting as more than 8,000 wildebeests’ cubs are born every day and just as they take their first step, they become targets for the rapacity predators. Another unique and dazzling sighting in the area is the acacia woodland which is immediately surrounded by short grass plains. 

After a day full of memories, you will retire to your accommodation for a tasty dinner and some good night’s rest as you prepare for another exciting day.

Day 3

Ndutu area – Ngorongoro conservation area 

The adventure continues, after having breakfast you will proceed with Game driving while heading to the crater rim, your drive will be full of spectacular animals view all around, keep your camera close and keep capturing wholesome pictures on the way. After a long of safari the night will be spent in one of the lodges / camp in the crater rim of Ngorongoro

Day 4

Ngorongoro crater – arusha /moshi

Make your way into the crater early in the morning after having breakfast, the popular crater has a lot to offer and has one of the most beautiful scenery on earth, going at least 600 meter deep the crater has become a home to wide range of animals that some named it the Eden Garden of Africa, this is also the only place that the rarely seen black rhino can be spotted on just a one-day game driving session. As you keep exploring and spotting the classical African animals you will be offered lunch in of the picnic sites in the crater before having a short afternoon game drive and heading out of the crater. The day will end by driving back to moshi/arusha.
