We will have Dominican dance lessons, a cooking workshop, a trip to the mountains to learn about local herbology as we walk through the fields, visiting villages, a morning of harvesting and preparing food in traditional style, visiting a local plantain farm, visits to nearby beaches. A hike from the top to the bottom of la presa de Moncion, which is a few minutes from the Caritas Smile guest house.

Every other day will be more lightly scheduled with a dynamic and a restorative yoga session offered, and the middle of the day for hiking, river walks, journaling, the beach, 

Gina is a Holistic Business Coach, Mentor, Marketing Guru and Reiki Master, guiding her clients through powerful  proven marketing, branding and business strategies. She is an accomplished Motivational Speaker, Workshop  Facilitator and Retreat Leader. The members of her exclusive community of entrepreneurs have coined her, “The  Connector”. As an Entrepreneurial Business Consultant, and Business Mentor she connects 'people to people'.  

Gina specializes in working with entrepreneurs and start-ups to develop strategies for acquiring new business,  establishing their niche and creating signature offerings and packages. She understands that it takes the right  business strategies to build momentum which leads to success. She is passionate about empowering others to excel  and thrive in their personal and professional lives. She brings enthusiasm and magnetism to every project, inspiring  business owners to open-up to their true potential. 

Gina sits on the Board of Directors for Caritas Smile. She travels abroad with the non-profit organization to help  rebuild villages in remote areas while helping to create life-changing moments for people. She is the VP of Human  Resources for Cloud 9 Online, a digital health and wellness company specializing in Medical Grade Meditations. She  is on the leadership team for eWomen International.

Hello! Welcome to Caritas Smile, Take A Trip, Change A Life - Women's Empowerment Program. I am an educator and social entrepreneur.  

Almost a decade ago I founded with my mother and 4 year old son.   Caritas Smile, is a non-profit with a mission to empower communities in need while changing the lives of those who travel with us. Travelers in our signature program, Take a Trip Change A Life Program perform random acts of kindness (building homes and schools, and offering art and English programs) in orphanages, hospitals, and poverty stricken communities in the U.S. and developing countries, mainly in Dominican Republic.

Our exclusive Women's empowerment program aims to give women the entrepreneurial tools and guidance necessary to take lasting and meaningful action.

Sixcia Devine represents a purpose focused generation of service learning and volunteering. In 2010, she founded Caritas Smile, a non profit that surprises communities in need by rebuilding schools, homes, surprising kids with educational supplies and toys at orphanages, children's hospitals, women’s prisons in the poorest area of Dominican Republic. Sixcia and her numerous stories of hope and inspiration are a living testimony that we really can “take small steps that have big impacts”. As a speaker she takes her philanthropic business philosophy to students, nonprofits, and corporate audiences, inspiring them to find inventive ways of giving back. 

Traveling across Dominican Republic, Colombia and Honduras during holidays and time off with her young son, Sixcia noticed that the poverty stricken areas were populated mainly by women and  children, they were often forced to neglect education and hygiene. She used her creativity and small  savings to launch networking events to help raise funds and awareness to those in need. With the  participation of individual sponsors and numerous friends and family, Sixcia and the Caritas Smile  team have personally helped more than 10,000 people in need in Dominican, Honduras, Colombia and  the United States. Caritas Smile programs include, social entreprenuership programs, volunteer abroad, teach abroad, and  customized programs for groups looking to travel to off the beaten path areas while making a  difference in the lives of others.
