About this trip

Tuscany conjures up dreams of what life would be like at a slower pace; where you can soak in the culture, food and amazing vistas of the Italian countryside. Go to the local markets to pick out some cheese and wine and stroll through the narrow passageways of medieval villages dating from the 14th century that few tourists get to see and that dot the countryside by the hundreds. Head back to your 18th century luxury villa by foot or bike as you pass olive groves and truffle fields just in time for an amazing Tuscan sunset. Tuscany is that dream vacation that you never got around to doing but now is your chance!

I was a little nervous when I looked into the Thailand 2019 trip – Globe Drifters is a smaller company, and I couldn’t find much information about them. It took a small leap of faith, but I am so happy that I went on this tour. I found that that company responded to my inquiries pretty quickly, so don’t be shy with questions. Everything begins and ends with Jodie, the founder of the company, and our guide for Thailand 2019. I really like that she keeps the tour group small as it was easier to form bonds within the group. It became obvious Jodie knew the country very well, and our group greatly appreciated the work she put in to make the tour go as smoothly as it did. The locations alternated between dense, highly trafficked areas (Bangkok, Chang Mai) and less busy areas (Krabi, Khao Sok National Forest). I especially appreciated the amount of flexibility that was planned into the itinerary, so I could break off and participate in independent activities when I wanted. I don’t really have “highlights” as I found the trip to be enjoyable from beginning to end. I would absolutely book a tour with Globe Drifters again.
Thank you to Globedrifter for organizing such an amazing trip. There were so many wonderful highlights and experiences along this tour. I would highly recommend it.
This is my 2nd trip with Globe Drifters, and I had a great time with them. The Vietnam portion was great; our tour guide Joy was organized, thorough, and very sweet. I loved our time in Vietnam! Cambodia was lovely but a harder place to travel just given the level of poverty and underdevelopment. The people were gracious and kind. The temples were breathtaking. This portion of the trip was a little less organized due to some last minute changes, but it did not take away from my enjoyment of the trip in general. Before booking, take note that this is a tour that is well suited towards more active, adventurous travelers. It’s almost a backpackers type of trip (with nicer accommodations though). SE Asia is not for the novice traveler so be prepared to be sweaty, uncomfortable, and tired. But it’s all very much worth it and you will gain so much perspective about two very resilient countries and people.
an amazing adventure that gave me a better understanding of an Islamic culture. the diversity of villages, terrain and sites was wonderful. overall, a good group of people except for a few outliers.
I found the trip largely enjoyable. One suggestion I would make is that the tour guide use the microphone on the van when talking about what we are seeing, doing, etc. Those of us who were forced to sit in the rear could hear about one half what he was saying, making the trip a lot less meaningful.
