About your trip

This immersive cycling and small ship journey explores the coastline and cultural heart of Japan during cherry blossom season, combining active adventure with cultural discovery and world class scenery.

The trip begins in Osaka, a lively coastal city famous for its food culture, nightlife, and welcoming atmosphere. After boarding the all suite vessel and assembling your bike, the adventure begins along one of Japan’s most celebrated cycling routes.

A signature highlight is riding the Shimanami Kaidō, a spectacular bike path that connects islands across the Seto Inland Sea. Riders cross the striking Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge while enjoying panoramic ocean views, coastal breezes, and cultural stops such as historic temples and seaside villages.

The route continues through quieter coastal regions of western Japan, including port towns, shrine sites, and scenic waterfront lanes framed by spring blossoms. Cultural exploration blends with riding as the journey visits historic castles such as Karatsu Castle and charming fishing communities where local markets and regional cuisine reflect Japan’s coastal heritage.

Travelers also experience the beauty of rural Japan, riding through citrus growing regions, pine lined shorelines, and island landscapes shaped by centuries of maritime life. Some itineraries include a stop in Korea’s coastal city of Yeosu, offering a unique international cultural and riding experience.

Further highlights include the spiritual landscapes of the Kumano region, where pilgrimage trails lead to sacred sites such as Kumano Hongu Taisha and the towering Otorii gate nearby. Riders also visit the natural wonder of Nachi Falls, one of Japan’s most iconic waterfalls framed by forested mountains.

The journey continues toward the scenic coastline of the Izu Peninsula, where views of Mount Fuji rise dramatically above the sea and coastal trails. Cherry blossoms often frame the riding routes during this season.

The adventure concludes in Tokyo, where ultra modern neighborhoods, historic temples, and vibrant city energy meet. Optional pre trip or post trip hotel stays are available in Osaka, Kyoto, or Tokyo for travelers who want to extend their experience.

This experience blends coastal cycling, cultural immersion, world class cuisine, and scenic cruising, offering an active exploration of Japan’s most beautiful spring landscapes.
