After breakfast in your hotel or lodge, you will be picked by the guide and you will begin your drive to Kisoro the home of Mhgahinga national park. It is usually a whole day's journey characterized by very many interesting things to see along the way like the Equator , the famous lake Bunyonyi, the scenic hills and valleys of Kabale and of-course the view of the mighty Virungas that you begin to get while still far way in the hills of Kabale, Kisoro.

Gorilla tracking is the most breathtaking activity done in the park, and it is only  Nyakagezi gorilla group that is tracked in this park. Gorilla tracking  starts the morning where by the trackers start from Ntebeko to track  these giants. There are guides and park rangers that are well informed  about the gorillas and the park at large so the trackers are advised to  be free with them and ask questions. Doing this activity needs when you  are physically okay since its quite challenging such as moving in the  forest, valleys and the steep slopes. 

Golden Monkeys are easy to track as they stay in the same area and they are also beautiful to look at. They can only be tracked from Mgahinga national park.

The Trekking begins at 8 am in the morning with an  orientation and then it is up into the forest along what is referred to  as the Gahinga Trail.  

You need to carry a day pack, a snack such as dried  fruit, Water and binoculars if you enjoy  birding.

When you finally meet the Golden Monkeys you will know  it, the forest comes alive with monkeys everywhere, even jumping over  you, the flurry of Monkey activities will be amazing.

This hike takes about 8 to 10 hours but well worth it – a very early  start is needed in order to complete this one day – like other volcano  climbs, it is a difficult hike and one needs to be in good shape.

This  volcano is also referred to as “the Guide.”  Visible from far  and wide it provides some of the best views available in Uganda – from  the top of the hikers can see the Virunga Volcano Chain, Lake Edward,  and Queen Elizabeth Park.  Even the peaks of the famed Rwenzori  Mountains of the Moon are visible from here.

Today after an early breakfast, you will transfer back from Kisoro and straight to the airport to catch your flight back home.
