About this trip

Practice yoga and meditation and explore the quiet historic country town of Asuka, the first ancient capital of Japan with Eriko. You will visit Japan at a perfect time of year, as the weather has cooled and trees start to change colors into many shades of gold, red, and green. A great time to enjoy autumn harvest and indulge in healthy local Japanese food.

Accommodation

You will be staying at a "minshuku", traditional Japanese accommodation in a quiet historic country town of Asuka (the first ancient capital of Japan). This accommodation is located about one kilometer from Asuka Station and about 15 minutes on foot.

On the way, you proceed with Kitora Tumulus, Takamatsuzuka Tumulus, Oni Yakugaku, and Oni no Uta, an old house around 250 years old. From the room, you can see the Mabuchi Dainai tomb of Tenmu and Motochi. The room is simple with a very relaxing futon bed. Superb Japanese traditional style 'onsen' on the premises. They have a great banquet center and nearby restaurants.
