This 6-day journey blends adventure, history, and relaxation across Western and Coastal Tanzania. Starting with a flight from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma, you will explore the historic town of Ujiji where Dr. Livingstone met Stanley, trek into the world-famous Gombe Stream National Park to track wild chimpanzees, and discover the raw wilderness of Katavi National Park—one of Tanzania’s most untouched safari destinations. After reconnecting with nature, your journey concludes back in Dar es Salaam with a tranquil day at Sinda Island, soaking up the sun, snorkeling, and unwinding on the pristine beaches.

Day 1

Dar es Salaam – Kigoma – Ujiji

  • Morning flight Dar es Salaam → Kigoma.

  • Arrival and transfer to Ujiji.

  • Visit the Livingstone Memorial & Museum, where Dr. David Livingstone met Henry Morton Stanley in 1871.

  • Explore local markets and get a feel of Kigoma town.

  • Overnight in Kigoma.

Day 2

Kigoma – Gombe Stream National Park

Morning boat transfer across Lake Tanganyika to Gombe Stream National Park.

  • Full-day trek in the forest: track chimpanzees, spot colobus monkeys, baboons, and over 200 bird species.

  • Picnic lunch in the forest.

  • Evening boat return to Kigoma.

  • Overnight in Kigoma.

Day 3

Kigoma – Katavi National Park

Morning road/air transfer (depending on budget & availability) to Katavi National Park.

  • Afternoon game drive: elephants, hippos, lions, and large buffalo herds in one of Tanzania’s least visited but most untouched parks.

  • Overnight in Katavi.

Day 4

Katavi Full Day Safari

Morning and afternoon game drives.

  • Explore Katuma River, Lake Katavi, and Lake Chada for hippos, crocodiles, water birds, and predators.

  • Sundowner in the wilderness.

  • Overnight in Katavi.

Day 5

Katavi – Kigoma – Dar es Salaam

Morning transfer back to Kigoma.

  • Catch return flight Kigoma → Dar es Salaam.

  • Arrival and transfer to hotel in Dar.

  • Evening at leisure.

Day 6

Sinda Island Day Trip (Dar es Salaam)

Morning boat ride to Sinda Island.

  • Relax on white sandy beaches, swim, snorkel, and enjoy fresh seafood lunch.

  • Explore the ruins and mangroves on the island.

  • Return to Dar in the evening.

  • End of Safari & Beach Adventure.
