After breakfast we leave the dales of the tropical jungle and progress forward with a climbing way, crossing the valley along a precarious rough edge. The course presently turns west onto a stream gorge until we show up at the Shira camping area.

Today we stroll on a delicate climb and all encompassing perspectives. We cross the southwest side of Kilimanjaro, passing under the Lava Tower and the last segment of the Western Breach and after hot lunch the lower part of the Lava Tower we drop to the lower part of the Great Barranco valley.

After breakfast, we leave Barranco and forge ahead with a lofty edge up the Barranco Wall (elev 4250m/13,900ft), through the Karanga Valley (elev 4050m/13,250ft) to the intersection which interfaces with the Mweka Trail. We go on up to the Barafu Camp. You have finished the South Circuit, which offers perspectives on the culmination from various points. Here we make camp with perspectives on the culmination somewhere far off.

Promptly in the first part of the day (12 PM to 2 am), we proceed with our way to the highest point between the Rebmann and Ratzel ice sheets. You head in a northwesterly course and climb through weighty scree towards Stella Point on the pit edge. This is the most intellectually and actually testing piece of the journey. At Stella Point you will stop for a brief reprieve and will be compensated with the most glorious dawn you are ever prone to see. Quicker explorers might see the dawn from the culmination.

From Stella Point, you might experience snow as far as possible on your 1-hour climb to the culmination. Once at Uhuru Peak you have arrived at the most elevated point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the mainland of Africa!

From the highest point we start our drop by proceeding with straight down to the Mweka Camp, halting at Barafu for lunch. You might need gaiters and journeying shafts for the free rock going down. We show up at Mweka Camp and partake in our keep going night on the mountain.

After breakfast we continue the descent down to the Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and t-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy).
