You will be picked up in morning at 07:30am in Dar es salaam and transferred to JK Nyerere airport for a scheduled flight at 10:00am to Arusha for a world class game.

Upon your arrival at Arusha Airport, your dedicated driver guide awaits you with a broad smile, ready to accompany you for the next five days. You will then start to drive towards Ngorongoro crater

You will stop at Mto wa mtu village for a cultural visit and traditionally prepared lunch, Bustling with a variety of cultures from around Tanzania, the little town of Mto Wa Mbu lies at the entrance to Lake Manyara National Park. A local agricultural hub, the town is famous for its crops of rice and the distinctive red bananas that Tanzania is known for. A half-day tour of the town in the company of a local guide gives travellers the opportunity to interact with local farmers, as well as artisans, craftsmen and painters. A sampling of the local banana beer adds a unique taste of local flavour.
This cross-cultural melting pot is home to approximately 120 tribes. A bustling, thriving village, it is fascinating to hear the colourful blend of languages and witness first-hand the unique customs. Cultural diversity is seen in the various entrepreneurial ways including a farmer from Kigoma producing palm oil from palm trees that he purchased from the shores of Lake Tanganyika, and the Rangi creating colourful, beautiful mats and baskets using papyrus from the lakes and rivers.

Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast you will be one of the very first vehicles descending the 600m (2,000ft) into the Ngorongoro Crater for superb game viewing.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, formed 2 to 3 million years ago when a large volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself. Today, the flat floor is covered in nutritious grasses and home to an unprecedented number of black rhino as well as black-maned lions, magnificent tuskers, and smaller plains game. You will have lunch at the famous hippo pool and later afternoon your will drive to your camp in Ndutu area - South Serengeti

Serengeti National Park - Ndutu area
After breakfast you will commence a Full day game drive in one of the most famous game parks in Africa, the Serengeti - South Serengeti {Ndutu} forms a part of the route for the annual migration of more than 2 million wildebeests and thousands of zebra, antelope and gazelle through the Serengeti eco system. During game drives between December and April, you will be able to see the great migration in this region. Between Mid Jan and Feb, calving happens here and it attracts hordes of predators prying on vulnerable young wildebeest. Crested with Lake Ndutu and Lake Masek, these waterholes offer plenty of wildlife game during the dry season. The Ndutu is also the home ground for 6 species of big cats – leopard, lion, cheetah, caracal, serval and wildcat. The action-packed game drive will end late in the evening by around 6pm the drive back to your accommodation, where a freshly prepared dinner awaits you.

Tarangire National Park - Zanzibar
Today you will have a game in Tarangire NP, Tarangire is a sanctuary to an unusually large elephant population. Majestic baobab trees are an interesting feature of the park. Animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the only permanent water supply in the area. There is a great diversity of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetah, and up to six thousand elephants. you will have lunch in Tarangire national park and then drive to Arusha airport to catch your scheduled flight to zanzibar,
Upon your arrival in Zanzibar at Aman Abeid Karume airport, you will be picked up by our guide and Transfer you to your hotel in Zanzibar.

This trip was everything I needed and more. It was wonderful, affordable, and full of amazing food and breathtaking views. We saw lions, giraffes, bamboo monkeys, cheetahs,* and so many other beautiful animals up close — truly unforgettable. The hot air balloon ride was hands-down my favorite part. Floating over the landscape felt magical and surreal. I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for adventure, peace, and memories you’ll talk about forever.

I cannot recommend this tour enough! 10/10. I did it a month ago, on Feb 16th. I reached out directly to Africa Pathways after seeing the tour online on third party websites. It was very useful to have direct contact as Alfred was exceptional in organising the tour for me and providing me all the information I need for the hike. Communication was consistent and clear on what I should be expecting. On the day of the hike, I was picked up by my driver Milton and mountain guide Godwin. It was a ~2.5hrs drive from Moshi to Kilimanjaro, but I did not feel it because of the interesting information they were telling me about Tanzania and pointing out of animals en route. Once we started the hike, Godwin’s knowledge about the region was incredible. I learnt a lot about the nature and plants too! Godwin was also a great photographer, taking cool videos and photos of me and the landscape. While I successfully made it to the top, the last part to get to the top was the most challenging, but Godwin was so patient and helpful. “Polé polé” is something you’d hear, it means take it slow. It’s important to take it slow since oxygen is lighter. All in all, the hike took me 6.5hrs, but it was the best feeling to sit at the top and have lunch with the views, so the challenge is 1000% worth it. And having Godwin as my guide made the experience wonderful! Since the altitude is so high, I will advise you do what you can to minimise the symptoms of altitude sickness (doesn’t affect everyone but if it does, it can include headache, nausea and vomiting). Stay hydrated throughout the hike, eat very well before the hike, sleep well and if you’d like, take some Diamox (16hrs before hike I believe). If you do get altitude sickness, you should be fine once you get back down to sea level after your hike. One more thing to note for any female solo travellers considering this tour, I was travelling solo, and felt very safe, cared for and respected throughout my trip! They’re a very friendly bunch! Thank you to Alfred, Godwin and Milton for this wonderful experience. Look forward to coming back and doing the full hike to Uhuru one day.

I had a wonderful experience on the Materuni waterfall and coffee tour with my guide Hudhaifa. He was such great company! I was traveling alone and although the conditions would normally seem miserable since it was raining hard and muddy and slippery on the trail, I unexpectedly had so much fun and laughed so much with him. I also loved learning about the Materuni people and loved how welcoming they were, especially enjoyed the experience of making coffee and singing with them. 10/10 highly recommend doing this tour with Hudhaifa!

This was by far the best trip in terms of value for money. Every part of the experience exceeded our expectations. Hudhaifa was a very professional, friendly, and patient driver. Our local guide, I believe his name was Kelvin was absolutely fantastic. So far, this has been the best experience we’ve had in Tanzania!
