Finding balance between Yin and Yang.
Yin Yoga is a slower paced and more passive style of yoga where postures are held longer, ranging from two to five minutes. In Yin, we settle our bodies into a particular pose and let go of all muscular recruitment and surrender to the ground for gravity to do its work. By doing so, we relax our muscles and apply moderate stress to the deepest layers of connective tissues in the body - tendons, fascia, and ligaments - improving the health and range of motion.
You will learn about the concept of Yin and Yang, the difference between them and how they complement each other. Creating both yin and yin/yang sequences, how to practice and how to teach more than twenty Yin Yoga postures with it’s modifications and variations. We will also take a closer look at comparative and functional anatomy, differences in skeletal and joint structures and how these differences may affect each individual’s practice. The knowledge behind TCM, Traditional Chinese Medicine; what is energy and what are the meridians we hear so much about?
