Why doesn't this tour include a Machu Picchu entrance ticket?
Machu Picchu entrance tickets are sold out online months in advance. This tour is designed specifically for passengers who could not purchase tickets through the official website. We handle the logistics (transportation, accommodation, and guide service) while you purchase your ticket directly at the Ministry of Culture ticket office in Aguas Calientes upon arrival.
Is it guaranteed that I will be able to buy my ticket in Aguas Calientes?
No. Ticket availability at the local ticket office depends entirely on the Peruvian government (Ministerio de Cultura) and cannot be guaranteed by our company. We strongly recommend arriving on Day 1 as early as possible to maximize your chances. If tickets are unavailable on Day 1, you may try again on Day 2 — in this case, your Machu Picchu visit would take place on Day 3, and an extra night in Aguas Calientes would be required ($20 USD add-on).
Which circuit should I buy at the ticket office?
We recommend purchasing Circuit 1A, 1B, 2A, or 2B for the 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM entry slot. If you secure one of these circuits, our professional guide will be waiting for you at the main entrance of Machu Picchu at 6:00 AM to lead your tour inside the citadel.
What happens if I get a different circuit or entry time?
If you purchase a circuit or entry time different from Circuit 1A, 1B, 2A, or 2B at 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM, our guide service may not be available. You are still welcome to visit Machu Picchu independently, but no refund will be issued for the unused guide service.
Is there a guide during the transportation or trekking?
No. Our guide service is exclusively inside the Machu Picchu citadel. No guide is provided during the transfer to Aguas Calientes, the trek from Hidroeléctrica to Aguas Calientes (Package 2), the Consettur bus ride, or the return journey.
How do I get from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu on the day of my visit?
You have two options: take the official Consettur bus from Aguas Calientes to the Machu Picchu entrance (available as an add-on — $24 USD round trip), or walk uphill (approximately 4 km / 1.5–2 hours). If you choose to walk, start no later than 4:30 AM to reach the entrance by 6:00 AM.
Is return transportation included?
No. Return transportation is not included in any package. You can add it as an optional add-on:
By train: $100 USD (train Aguas Calientes → Ollantaytambo + transfer to Cusco near Plaza de Armas)
By car: $25 USD (shared car Hidroeléctrica → Cusco, departure 2:00–2:30 PM)
If you do not purchase a return add-on, you are responsible for arranging your own return from Aguas Calientes.
What is the difference between Package 1 (train) and Package 2 (car)?
Package 1 ($200 USD) includes a comfortable one-way train journey from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, arriving in early afternoon. Package 2 ($70 USD) includes a shared car transfer from Cusco to Hidroeléctrica plus a scenic 11 km / 3-hour flat trek to Aguas Calientes, arriving late afternoon. Both packages include 1 night accommodation with dinner (Day 1) and breakfast (Day 2), plus guide service inside Machu Picchu.
Is there a student discount?
No. This tour does not include a student discount or any additional discount. Since Machu Picchu entrance tickets are not managed by our company under this service, student pricing through the Ministry of Culture does not apply to our package price.
What physical condition do I need for this tour?
For Package 1 (train), no significant physical effort is required on Day 1. For Package 2 (car), you must be able to complete an 11 km / 3-hour flat trek from Hidroeléctrica to Aguas Calientes independently. On the visit day, if you choose to walk to Machu Picchu, you must be able to complete a 4 km uphill walk. Moderate physical fitness is recommended for all passengers.
