Egypt is a tipping culture. Many people make their living from tips.
Here is a helpful guide for tipping in Egypt:
You may be approached by someone asking for a "baksheesh" or tip. While tipping is up to your discretion, you can have small bills of Egyptian pounds or USD handy to alleviate this.
For any other people you encounter- bellhops, bathroom attendants, etc.
Tipping is the way of life in Egypt ,it is considered an appreciation of a good service has been offered and got your satisfaction, however it is at your discretion .
This is just a guideline that you might like to know how much it would be for the personnel:

There are few women working in hotels, restaurants, cruise ships or transportation, but there are more men, which means you will interact with a lot of more men than women during your tour. They are friendly, and like to joke and flirt with women. Please don't take offense if someone offers you five camels - or more! - to marry them.... It is a friendly joke and not at all serious. Their intention is to flatter you, and have fun. Please know that bus drivers, guards and tour guides will offer you a hand or arm getting on and off buses, etc. This is strictly to help you. If you are uncomfortable with it, just politely decline. If anyone does anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, (I don't expect them to, but just in case...) like invading your personal space, touching you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, or suggesting something inappropriate, SAY NO and make your boundaries clear.
You will be stopping at several established and trusted stores for shopping opportunities: carpets, papyrus, essential oils, blown glass vessels, and jewellery and cartouches. Purchases made at these stores are guaranteed authentic. These stores DO accept credit cards.
It is allowed to take photos with a cell phone ( without Flashlight ) almost everywhere in Egypt. Please check with your guide they Change rules most time .
Please do NOT use credit cards in the souks or marketplaces, as it is not secure
We will visit various parts of the African country of Egypt.
