Our goal is to provide a platform where people from all over the world can meet and get the healing from Taitas from the deep jungle. People who would otherwise not have a chance to meet.
Our retreat was born when the founder RK went to the jungle and was instructed by medicine to help it get spread around the world.
Our Ayahuasca retreat is open to people from all over the world independent of their faith or religion. This is a post for people who have never tried ayahuasca before. How does everything happen.Around 4PM on Friday the bus will pick you up on Medellin in Poblado, this is our normal pickup location but I will update you on it if anything changes.https://goo.gl/maps/PqpBgYe8qYF3MofN9You should arrive around 5.30-6pm depending on the traffic. Everyone gets comfy and settled in their colchonetas (matresses on the floor).Around 8 PM we will start a fire and people gather around fire, talk about their plans for the ceremony, what they would like to achieve with it. You can also “rezar tobaco” (pray to tobacco) or consume mambe. Sometimes we play a bit of music. Then one by one you will be called to altar and given the medicine. After that you can take a spot at your colchoneta or at the seat near the fire and enjoy the experience. It is recommended not to speak to anyone after you have taken the medicine and concentrate on your thoughts. Free your mind and let the experience flow.If you are facing a negative thought or are being taken to a negative place you don’t want to go it is important to let go and let the medicine do its work. Never resist the medicine it might lead to a negative and unproductive experience. Some taitas (shamans) recommend you not to lie down at least first few hours, it will help you to avoid getting sleepy.Once everyone has drunk the medicine the lights will be turned off. Candles and the fire will be the only source of light till the morning comes. It is preferable you don’t turn light on your phone or in the bathroom.Ayahuasca experienceWhat to expect from the medicine itself? The best approach is to expect nothing. Empty your mind and just experience what is happening to you – don’t push it.
2nd cup.If you drank the first cup and felt nothing about 90 minutes later you can ask for the second cup. Some people need more than other due to physiological differences. You can drink up to 3 cups a night. You will know if you need more.90% of times after drinking the medicine you will want to puke or as it is called alleviate in the local tradition, because after puking you will feel good. Sometimes you will feel negative emotions and energies leave your body while puking. The buckets will be provided for you to puke.Everyone hates puking me included, but don’t worry about it too much, ayahuasca is not only a cure for the mind, but also for the body. And puking is its way to purge you and trust me you will feel cleaner and healthier after that.Around 3AM most people will start coming back from their experience. If it is the last day of the ceremony Taita will perform the cleaning.Every one will be seated near fire and taita will chant, dance around you with wayra and spray special herb infusions on you. He will also use music and copal for the cleaning. After that you can go and rest till the morning.MorningAround 9AM we will serve the breakfast and agua panela based drinks.Morning are the best time when you can share with others about your experience that night and hear their stories. Ayahuasca experience is a great bonding and we noticed a lot of people who shared the ceremony become friends. If you are at a several day retreat, we will serve lunch around 2PM. Then you rest till evening and we repeat the ceremony. With each night you can peel the levels and go deeper and deeper. This is my summary of what to expect during the ceremony, but it would be great if you left your questions in comments, so as we progress I can add and modify this post to make it more complete.
