Why the Greek Goddess Archetypes?
The Greek Goddesses Archetypes represent all aspects of the female psyche, both the light and the shadow. Each one can mirror different facets of ourselves, and may come to light at different stages of our lives. Throughout our retreat, we will connect daily with two of seven Greek Goddess Archetypes: Hestia, Artemis, Athena, Hera, Demeter, Persephone, and Aphrodite.
These archetypes serve as spiritual guides, aiding us in defining ourselves, our paths, and our roles within our communities. Through interactive workshops, Authentic Movement and Healing Arts, we'll explore these timeless figures, uncovering intimate truths about ourselves, key to achieving self-knowledge and wholeness.
Why Authentic Movement & Healing Arts?
In our retreat, Authentic Movement and Healing Arts are integral to our explorations, resonating deeply with the feminine essence. These practices invite a journey into receptivity and openness, creating a sanctuary where creativity flourishes. Authentic Movement is a practice that nurtures an internal space of listening, letting the body's wisdom guide the expression. Similarly, Healing Arts provide a canvas for unbridled creativity, where colors, shapes, images and textures become languages through which inner landscapes are revealed and explored.
These endeavors are not about creating art; they are about creating space to listen to and honor our inner wisdom. Together, these modalities offer a profound way to engage with our inner selves, celebrating the fluidity, strength, and dynamism of our feminine spirit.
Each morning, we begin with a calming yin yoga session, an ideal practice to reground and reconnect with our essence.
As you move gently, let the soothing sounds of the Mediterranean Sea expand your awareness, anchoring you in the present moment.
Following our enriching workshops, you'll have ample free time to embrace the beauty of Paros – whether it's unwinding on its serene beaches, exploring the island’s charm, or rejuvenating with a relaxing massage.
Each day, our journey includes two workshops, each dedicated to exploring one of the Greek Goddesses.
We dive into their myths, drawing inspiration from their symbols and stories, enriching our understanding of these powerful archetypes.
Through creative play with drawing, collage, and clay, we embrace their multifaceted qualities, deepening our connection to their diverse aspects within us.
Our sessions also include embodied explorations and Authentic Movement, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for you to freely move and tune into your body’s innate wisdom.
This immersive approach allows you to open up and receive profound insights and understandings from each archetype, fostering your healing and personal growth.
What truly sets our retreat home, Okreblue Seaside Yoga Retreat Center, apart is the delightful dining experience with delicious meals made from organic, home-grown vegetables at Caretta restaurant-lounge.
Enjoy included light breakfast, brunch, and dinner, or explore nearby villages for traditional Greek flavors.
As a Greek myself, I assure you, the local cuisine is a must-try experience, enriching your retreat with every bite.
On our final day, we dedicate time to revisiting and integrating the rich tapestry of experiences shared throughout our journey. This is a moment to tap into your creative flow, embracing your role as both creator and director of your life's narrative.
You'll discover the depths of love, beauty, joy, wisdom, and creativity that reside within your soul, guiding you towards a more fulfilling and wholehearted life path.
In our sacred circle, each woman is encouraged to emerge and share her unique journey. Together, we celebrate our vibrant and multifaceted female essence, honoring the diversity and strength within our sisterhood.
Imagine awakening your soul amidst the enchanting beauty of Paros, a gem in the Cyclades of Greece, where the azure Mediterranean Sea meets the golden Greek summer light.
This iconic island, which hosted our amazing retreat last year, has been intentionally chosen again for its rejuvenating blend of warm sea waters and inspiring summer light, perfect for embracing and embodying the full essence of your femininity.
Paros, nestled in the Aegean Sea, is renowned for its stunning beaches and Ms. Maria's traditional pastry. It harmoniously blends modernity with tradition, featuring traditional Cycladic architecture, vibrant nightlife, magical beaches, enchanting rural villages, and historical monuments.
Our sanctuary, The Okreblue Seaside Yoga Retreat Center, mirrors the island's spirit and has proven to be a perfect setting for our retreats. Created with love for like-minded individuals to gather, practice, and share, my personal experience and the positive feedback from last year's participants affirm that Okreblue truly embodies authentic Greek hospitality – a home away from home.
What makes Okreblue more special, is the organic home grown vegetables that are used for the delicious meals at Caretta restaurant-lounge (Okreblue’s restaurant)
A light breakfast with coffee, tea, nuts and fruits and two meals, the delicious organic brunch and dinner, are included in your stay.
After the workshops there is plenty of free time to enjoy the beach, get to know the island of Paros or relax by receiving a massage. Dinner time is open for you to choose between staying at Okreblue or visiting a close by village for more traditional plates.
As Greek myself, I can't brag enough for how tasty greek flavors are and you definitely need to try yourself at least once in your life.
As an integral part of our retreat, we have planned a special one-day excursion to immerse ourselves further in the rich Greek culture and history. Midway through our journey, we'll explore one of the nearby Greek islands – Delos, Mykonos, or Antiparos – each offering a unique and enriching experience.
On Delos, you'll step into a world steeped in ancient mythology. As the mythical birthplace of Artemis and Apollo, it’s home to remarkable archaeological sites and a museum boasting an impressive collection of Greek sculptures, providing a tangible connection to the archetypes we explore.
In contrast, Mykonos captivates with its vibrant Cycladic architecture. Wander through streets lined with whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches, and enjoy a delightful lunch featuring local Aegean specialties in this lively island setting.
Alternatively, the serene Antiparos offers a peaceful retreat with its unspoiled landscapes and tranquil beaches, allowing for contemplation and relaxation.
This excursion is thoughtfully curated to complement our retreat's theme, enriching your understanding and experience of Greek heritage and the archetypes we embrace. Get ready for a day of discovery, connection, and unforgettable memories.
