Pick up in Nairobi

We will pick you up from the airport or the Tamarind Hotel early morning and drive to the Tsavo National Park. The drive takes us through some of the coolest city sights. We will pass market places with exotic fruits, veggies, colourful handicrafts, baskets, soapstone plates, fascinating herbs and techno fabrics.

We will enter the Tsavo National Park and game drive to Kilaguni Serena. There are instantly opportunities to spot wildlife and the vast expanse of the bush will take your breath away.

We arrive for lunch and there is ample time to sit with a beer or G and T or explore our home for the next 2 nights before we head out on an evening game drive.

Dinner is a luxurious affair and often accompanied by the sound of lion in the distance. No doubt we will roll into bed after a long and exhilarating day.

Day 2 - 18th March

Bush Life

Wake before the sun to coffee and a cookie thoughtfully left earlier by the very attentive staff.

We head out on our morning game drive looking for wild dog, hyena and lion as well as the smaller charming dung beetle or the funny warthog. Arriving back at the lodge to a long lingering breakfast that offers a chance to fill our bellies with a huge array of delicacies from the buffet table, talk about the morning animal sightings and the noises that startled us from sleep the night before.

The afternoon is perfect for dozing, reading, relaxing on the garden sundeck by the swimming pool or watching elephants, buffalo and other plains game drinking and cooling off in the water hole.

Sundowners are served around 4pm before we head out on our evening game drive hoping to find cheetah hunting gazelle or elephants itching their backs on termite mounds.

Dinner is served under a star filled sky

Day 3 - 19th March

Day 3 - 19th March image

Heading to the beach

We wake for our last official game drive, stopping at watering holes to immerse ourselves in the stillness and grab a last few photos before heading back to the lodge for a huge hearty breakfast.

We leave Kilaguni Serena and game drive out of the park. The journey to Kilifi is a few hours and the scenery changes dramatically. The coast is hot and tropical and baobabs and coconut palms fill the streets.

Our Nourish Retreat begins when we arrive at Tower House. It is in this portion of the retreat where you are lovingly fed and educated by Amina, stretched and soothed by Leyla and introduced to breathwork techniques by Laura.

On reaching the house there is time to walk on the beach, swim in the sea before we meet for evening yoga in the shade of the baobab trees.

Dinner whilst in Kilifi will always be vibrant, prana dense, sneakily added sugar free, delicious and plenty.

We meet after yoga to enjoy what Amina has created and start to learn about food dynamics and how to feed ourselves well.

Day 4 - 20th March

Discover the kitchen

Kilifi days unravel at a gentler pace then those in the bush.

We begin with a coast walk enjoy the early morning sunshine on our faces before finding our selves on our yoga mats for a creative flow incorporating meditation and asana.

After yoga there is time to journal, shower or have a quick swim before we meet for the most colourful brunch you can imagine. Our meals tend to be slow affairs, pausing to enjoy tastes and textures and to try to discover what went into dressings. Not only will Amina create food for you she ensures when you leave you are able to do it for yourself too.

After brunch there is a healthy snack workshop where you get to try your hand making plant milks or sweet treats, or any number of other surprises that Amina has.

Afternoon has plenty of free time to explore the coast, take a nap or hide away in one of the many little nooks to enjoy a good book.

Sundowners are served before we meet back on our mats for an evening yin practice.

Dinner is a prana dense taste extravaganza. You might recognise some of the things you created popping up on the menu

Slow down, reflect, and go inwards

For the run enthusiasts there are beautiful paths through the plantation that Amina is an expert on. She will happily guide you before finding yourself on your yoga mat.

Our morning asana explores, strength building and careful transitions so expect to build heat and an appetite.

Whilst we are in Warrior 2 Amina will have been busy checking those appetites are taken care of. We meet for a dynamic brunch, incorporating salads, leafy greens, colourful fruits, lentil burgers, quinoa, smoothies and of course good African coffee.

After brunch Amina will host Nutrition 101 a workshop to help you feel abundant, well and full of life. She hares tips that are easy to incorporate into every day life.

In the afternoon there is time to read, visit local handicraft shops, swim, journal or snooze.

Sundowners are served around 4 and we meet back on our mat around 5 for an evening yin session, Taking it slowly as we start to tune into what our body needs.

This evening there will be starlight yoga nidra after a hearty dinner.

Our morning begins with the chance to walk or run on the beach or throuh the plantation followed by vinyasa yoga and pranayama. Today we will incorporate some kriyas and explore how it feels to shift breath and prana in this way.

Brunch is as colourful, tasty and pretty as previous days and by now you are probably feeling amazing from the dynamic, live, clean food you have been eating.

Amina will lead her final workshop with you. Helping you identify your goals and habits and how to reach your potential.

This evening we will head out on the water for a sunset dhow sail.

Arriving back for a grounding and juicy yin class

Sad goodbye

We begin our final day together with a last vinyasa practice In the shade of the baobab trees and over looking the milky turquoise ocean.

We gather earlier then previous days to eat a phenomenal breakfast where maybe you can recognize some of the treats and dishes you have learned to create during our retreat.

After breakfast we wave a sad goodbye and head for the domestic airport to catch a flight back to Nairobi.

We are met off the plane in Nairobi and either taken to the Tamarind hotel or The international airport to catch our flight home.

About your organizer

I am a 500 hr EYT and a shiatsu therapist. I grew up in East London, UK and the closest I got to nature was a picnic at the local park. That changed when I ditched my Burberry for a backpack and followed the calling of my soul. These days I love to be barefoot beneath an African sky or twirling in the Gujurati desert, in awe of earths wonder. I create transformative retreats and Teacher Trainings in off the beaten track locations. My inspiration and creativity come from a life fuelled by love, truth and courage.
