During this Women’s Retreat you will practice yoga that's infused with intention and meaning while experiencing a new culture and nourishing your body and soul with delicious, healthy food and a beautiful setting. Every detail is taken care of for you. Each day you will step into a serene yoga shala to move and breathe through a sequence of practices led with love and care. Then decide between the ocean or the pool, a hike or more hammock time. Creativity thrives in structure. Dedicated time to break away from our normal routine and responsibilities paired with simple spiritual practices help quiet the noise so we can deeply listen, feel, and acknowledge our own needs and gifts.
This retreat is for those looking to travel with purpose and be a part of an authentic community. You will be guided through a two hour program each day consisting of contemplative practices, yoga, and meditations using reflection and somatics to nurture your mental emotional wellbeing. You can also expect plenty of fun, opportunities for down time, pampering yourself with a massage (or many), meals around the table, adventures, optional surfing and maybe some naps. Then, wash it all away in the pacific ocean. Think dolphin dives into waves painted pink from the setting sun… wash, repeat.
CocoLoco is a special place, sacred to me, where you feel all at once loved, supported, and free to experience childlike wonder. Expect a balance of healing, community, fun and lots of joy. In addition to the above this trip also includes a boat excursion through the mangroves to watch the sunset on a magical beach estuary and a Karma activity with the resort’s non profit, Waves of Hope. We will come together as a group and spend a few hours completing a project at one of the community's nearby schools. This is a heartfelt and rewarding experience and for some ends up being the highlight of their week.
Begin your day with a light continental breakfast featuring homemade granola, fresh tropical fruits, yogurt, chia seeds, freshly baked breads, homemade peanut butter and of course coffee and tea. Around mid-morning, indulge in Coco Loco’s famous “2nd Breakfast”… adding heavier breakfast items to the morning spread.
Lunch options include items such as Grilled Veggie Hummus Salad, Coconut or Fish Ceviche w/ Pineapple-Rice, Zucchini Rolls with Cashew Nut Cheese, Roasted Veggie Pesto Sandwich on Homemade Focaccia, Pulled Pork Sandwiches, and Falafels.
Dinner begins with a light appetizer followed by a main course and dessert. A few sample dishes… Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, Pineapple Whip (like a homemade pineapple ice cream), Papaya Bruschetta, Raw or Veggie Lasagna, Raw Carrot Cake, Guacamole w/ Veggie Sticks, Grilled Fish or Stuffed Veggies w/ Quinoa, Raw or Baked Brownies. Enjoy!
Included in your trip is a beach estuary boat tour though the mangroves, optional wakeboarding, and a memorable sunset. When you arrive you will have the option to add on a surf lesson, massage, a hike to the beautiful Cosiguina volcano, chocolate making and more.
Jen's journey in yoga is both deeply rooted and continuously evolving, shaped by extensive training and a profound personal practice. She has completed over 800 hours of training, including a 500 Hour Certification with Ame Wren of Boston Yoga School and a 300hr Yoga Philosophy certification with NYC based organization, Embodied Philosophy.
Her approach to teaching is marked by clarity, compassion, and a profound sense of responsibility. Drawing from her rich background in classical yoga and it's philosophies as well as her training in functional, alignment based postural yoga, Jen creates an immersive experience in her vinyasa-style classes. Each session is a journey of guided movement, breathwork, introspection, and stillness, designed to foster greater awareness, health, and healing for her students.
Beyond the physical practice, Jen's devotion to yoga extends into a deep exploration of its philosophical and spiritual dimensions. She finds inspiration in the teachings of Tantric Shaivism, particularly through the guidance of Christopher Wallis, and holds a special affinity for the study of yoga history.
Despite her extensive dedication to yoga, Jen's greatest role is that of a devoted mother to three daughters, residing on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, alongside her husband. For Jen, yoga isn't just a practice, it's a source of well-being and journey of self-discovery.
