About this trip

Imagine a week exploring all the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu has to offer, and then diving into a deeper understanding of yourself and your personal yoga practice. Indulge in the nutritious Peruvian cuisine after you hike to, explore, and journey into our led yoga classes in these beautiful Ancient Incan Archaeological sites. Your skillful guide and knowledgeable yoga instructor will lead you on a journey not to be forgotten.

What's Special?

This breath-taking (and making) retreat allows options to accommodate every level of yoga while providing a safe, fun, and exhilarating space. Many of the yoga classes will be held in the archaeologic sites after or during day hikes. Our experienced tour guide will help you explore and learn all about the Sacred Valley while our physical-therapy-background yoga instructor will assist and guide you through meditation, pranayama, and yoga asana. Experience the culture with the local villagers, enjoy official ceremonies from ancient medicine men and women, and grow your yoga practice in the Heart of the Sacred Valley.

Full Description

This 7 day yoga and hiking retreat encompasses the entire Heart of the Sacred Valley and allows you to take time out of your daily routine to become one with Pachamama (Mother Earth) as you re-discover yourself.

The first few days include indoor and outdoor daily yoga, meditation, pranayama, and hiking throughout the Sacred Valley. You will take time to learn about the Incan Civilization as explained by our experienced guide, as well as new ways to explore your yoga practice, meditative practice, and beyond.

We will share blessings, yoga, and a meal with those of a local village. How beautiful it is to experience life with others!

We get to the town of Aguas Calientes on day 4 to begin our tour of Machu Picchu. Imagine doing yoga and meditation in these ancient ruins! All of the previous day hikes prepare us for the option of the intense (but worthwhile) hike of Wayna Picchu.

After a very rewarding time in the Sacred Valley and beyond, we will be joined by a Shaman or medicine man/woman to offer blessings and a ceremony as we continue on back to Cusco for the last portion of our retreat.

Cusco provides us with our final daily yoga and meditation classes as well as time to explore this marvelous city. Before we depart ways, we will hold a farewell dinner the night before to close out our intentions.

Food

All meals (8 breakfasts, 7 lunches, and 7 dinners) are included. There are meal options for vegans, vegetarians, those who are gluten and/or dairy free, and those who have no restrictions. Any and all food allergies and intolerances should be made known to our staff at the time of booking so that we may accommodate you.

Peruvian food often includes all types of potatoes, corn, and fresh vegetables. Expect to be nourished!

Location

We will arrive into Cusco, Peru and immediately drive into the Sacred Valley to begin to acclimatize to the elevation. Most of our time will be spent exploring the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Towards the end of the retreat, we will make our way back up to Cusco to end our journey there.

Carrie, once crowned the "in-tents" yoga instructor on her last visit to the Sacred Valley, is a physical therapist by day, and a rock climbing yogi by every other time. She owns her own yoga business, Dihedral Yoga, LLC based in St. Petersburg, FL (@DihedralYoga on Instagram and Facebook). She has her 200 Hour RYT and has been teaching for about 2 years. Her favorite types of yoga to teach and join in on are power, hatha, and Ashtanga styles, but has been recently digging the softer side of yoga, like yin and restorative.
