 Continue your climb through the heath and moorland zone. Hikers will pass through the settlement of Machame, which is situated on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, on their way to the Machame gate. The hiker(s) will now leave the park's entrance and go up a ridge by way of a meandering track through the jungle. The route may be muddy and treacherous farther down. It is advised and a great idea to bring gaiters and trekking poles here! The climber(s) will now go for a few distances till you arrive at the Machame camp.

This 7days Mount Kilimanjaro Via Machame route climbing  from Shira Camp to Lava Tower Barranco hiker(s) and the team travel on a gradual rise and enjoy panoramic views on the third day of the Machame trail. After a hearty lunch at 4,600 meters below sea level (the bottom of the Lava Tower), You will travel the southwest side of Mount Kilimanjaro, passing beneath the Lava Tower and the last part of the Western Breach.

 • Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp (4600m)

Following breakfast, we depart Barranco and make our way up a winding slope along the Barranco Wall (height 4250m/13,900ft), via the Karanga Valley (elevation 4050m/13,250ft), and finally to the intersection where the Mweka Trail intersects. Up ahead, we reach the Barafu Campground. You have finished the Southern Circuit, which gives several perspectives of the peak. The crew and I set up camp here at the Barafu campground with views of the peak in the distance.

• Hiking Time: 5-7 hours up / 5-6 hours down

  After breakfast, you will continue climbing up to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters) for overnight stay. The trek takes about 3-4 hours and covers a distance of approximately 4 kilometers. You will have an early dinner and rest before the midnight summit attempt.

 You will wake up around midnight and begin the summit attempt. The trek to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters) takes about 6-7 hours, passing through Stella Point (5,756 meters) before reaching the summit. After taking in the breathtaking views and photos at the top, you will begin the descent to Mweka Camp (3,100 meters) for overnight stay.

  After breakfast, you will continue the descent to Mweka Gate (1,640 meters), where you will receive your summit certificates and say goodbye to the mountain crew. You will then be transferred back to the hotel in Moshi for a well-deserved hot shower and rest.
