The Ocean Serenity Retreat will consist of several different yoga flows, adjusted to each persons level. We invite all beginner to intermediate yogi’s to come out, whether you’re starting your yoga journey or deepening your practice and touching up on your asanas. During this retreat, you will be staying at Hush Maderas. A boutique eco-hotel located on a headland with breath taking ocean views. A 5 minute walk down a jungle path and you’ll arrive on the soft sands of the beautiful Playa Maderas. Look into the canopies for a chance at spotting the friendly howler monkey neighbours. Playa Maderas is connected to two other beaches and is perfect for long beach walks.
Take in the breath taking 360° panorama views during your yoga and meditation classes on the Hush Maderas rooftop. Start each morning with an energising class, reconnecting with your inner-self while building heat and sweat. Unwind in each calming evening class in which you can marvel at the colourful clouds swirling around you and the sky transforming during the magical ocean sunsets. With the rise of the moon and the fall of darkness, the stars start to reveal themselves and invite you to gaze upon them as you awaken from savasana.
All of the rooms at Hush have spectacular ocean and jungle views. They are spacious, well ventilated and equipped with an en suite bathroom, wardrobe and fans.
With the comfortable mattresses and the sound of the waves below, you’ll fall into a deep sleep not long after your head touches the pillow.
Sanne Hofman is CYT-200 certified yoga teacher (Vinyasa) as well as a psychologist, who can help guide you through your journey reconnecting your mind, body and soul. While studying psychology (BA) and neuropsychology (MA) in the Netherlands, she developed a strong love and understanding of the mind and how it is connected to the body. During and after her studies, she travelled the world and experienced a freedom that made her realise that she didn’t want a standard 9 to 5 office job. While travelling she met her current boyfriend Tobias, who has a likeminded view of life. Since then they have been travelling together to many different places. Yoga and meditation became more prominent in Sanne’s life and it only felt natural to her to become a yoga teacher. Combining her ambition for yoga and psychology, she feels passionate about connecting with people and helping them with living a mindful life, connecting mind, body and soul.
Margaux d'Altena (Yoga teacher and designer) is born in Brussels. Margaux teaches Sadhana Yoga, a type of yoga that focuses on spirituality inducing the notion of effort to achieve a goal, mixing mesoamerican rituals, sound healing and mayas chants with asanas. With her, we learn to decode the messages we receive every day to unlock our true potential and live the life we deserve. She encourage you to open your heart with confidence, to move your body without embarrassment, and to be just yourself, in the moment. She brings to the beach the magic of the jungle where she spends half the year at "Los Nogales" her yoga retreat and permaculture center in Nicaragua seeking sustainable development of ecological and cultural communities
The private room has stunning ocean views with a hammock and sitting patio in front of the room. The room has a king or a queen size bed, en-suite bathroom, a closet, ceiling vans and big windows with lots of airflow coming through. There is wifi in the room.
