Your safari begins in Arusha before travelling by road to Tarangire National Park, where elephants, ancient baobabs, and diverse wildlife create the opening chapter of your journey. Continue exploring the park, including the Silale Swamp, before enjoying a picnic breakfast or sundowner along the riverbank.

From Tarangire, continue towards the Ngorongoro Highlands with a stop at a traditional Maasai village, offering an opportunity to experience local culture and community life. Continue to the Ngorongoro area before descending into the crater for a full day of exploration, with a picnic lunch beside the Hippo Pool. After ascending to the rim, continue by road via Olduvai Gorge before driving onward to the Central Serengeti. From the Central Serengeti, follow the migration route north towards Kogatende, enjoying game viewing along the way as the landscape changes towards the Mara River region. Spend three nights at Nyikani Migration Camp Kogatende, using the area as a base for dedicated exploration of one of the most dramatic stages of the Great Migration. Spend two full days exploring the Mara River region, timing your game drives around the movement of the herds and the possibility of witnessing dramatic river crossings. Welcome to Tanzania. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your TourwithPipi representative and transferred to Serena Hotel Arusha, where you can settle in and relax after your journey.

The remainder of the day is at leisure, giving you time to rest and ease into your first evening in Tanzania. Surrounded by the landscapes of Arusha and with views toward Mount Meru, the evening offers a gentle introduction to the safari journey ahead.

Overnight: Serena Hotels Arusha 

After breakfast, depart Arusha by road and travel towards Tarangire National Park, one of northern Tanzania's most distinctive wildlife areas. As you leave the city behind, the landscape gradually changes to open countryside before reaching the park, known for its ancient baobabs, seasonal wetlands, and large elephant herds.

Upon arrival, begin your first game drive through Tarangire, with opportunities to encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and other wildlife. Continue to Nyikani Camp Tarangire for dinner and a relaxed evening surrounded by the sounds of the park.

Spend the day exploring Tarangire National Park, with a focus on Silale Swamp, an important wildlife area where water and surrounding vegetation attract a variety of animals and birdlife. The area offers opportunities to encounter elephants, buffalo, antelope, and other wildlife drawn to the swamp.

After lunch, continue with an evening game drive, exploring the park as wildlife becomes more active in the cooler hours. Later, enjoy a sundowner by the riverbank, taking in the changing landscape before returning to camp for dinner.

After breakfast, leave Tarangire and continue by road towards the Ngorongoro Highlands. The journey takes you from the open landscapes of Tarangire into the higher elevations and changing scenery surrounding the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

En route, stop at a Maasai village for an opportunity to learn about local traditions, culture, and daily life. Continue into the highlands and arrive at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, where you can settle in and enjoy the surroundings overlooking the crater.

After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of exploration. The crater floor is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife, with opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and other species within the dramatic volcanic landscape.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at the hippo pool during your time in the crater before beginning your ascent back to the rim. Later, continue by road through Olduvai Gorge, often referred to as the Cradle of Humankind, before continuing onward into the Central Serengeti and arriving at camp for the evening.

After breakfast, set out for a full day of exploration in the Central Serengeti, where vast plains and abundant wildlife create some of Tanzania's most celebrated safari experiences. Game drives take you through the surrounding landscapes in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, and other wildlife.

For those looking for a different perspective, an optional hot-air balloon experience may be available in the early morning. Otherwise, continue with game drives throughout the day, with a break for lunch before returning to Nyikani Camp Central Serengeti for the evening.

After breakfast, depart the Central Serengeti by road and travel north towards Kogatende, following the route of the migrating herds as they move towards the Mara River region. The journey allows you to experience the changing landscapes of the Serengeti while continuing to look for wildlife along the way.

As you travel north, the landscape becomes increasingly suited to the dramatic migration scenes found around Kogatende. Continue into the Northern Serengeti and arrive at Nyikani Migration Camp Kogatende, where you can settle in and prepare for the days of migration viewing ahead.

Spend a full day exploring the Mara River region around Kogatende, timing your game drives around the movement of the migrating herds. The river crossings are unpredictable, so time in the area allows you to follow the herds and watch for opportunities to witness some of the most dramatic moments of the Great Migration.

Enjoy a bush lunch during your day in the field before continuing your game drives through the surrounding plains and river areas. Return to Nyikani Migration Camp Kogatende in the evening.
