About your trip

Croatia and Hidden Bosnia: Faith, Kingdoms & Wild Nature is a 12-day small-group journey exploring the cultural, spiritual, and natural treasures of Bosnia & Herzegovina and the highlights of the beautiful coast of Croatia.

The journey begins in Dubrovnik, a well known must see gem in Croatia. You will spend two unforgettable days exploring the old-town Dubrovnik and the surrounding area before heading to Bosnia and Hercegovina.

The journey continues into Bosnia starting with Mostar and the famous bridge and old town before continuing to Sarajevo, where Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian history meet. Guided visits to landmarks such as the Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque, Sacred Heart Cathedral, and the Tunnel of Hope Museum introduce the city’s remarkable cultural story.

Travel continues to the medieval royal town of Jajce, famous for its fortress and the spectacular Pliva Waterfall, before exploring centuries-old Franciscan monasteries in central Bosnia.

The final part of the journey in Bosnia takes place in the dramatic landscapes of Sutjeska National Park, home to the ancient Perućica Primeval Forest—one of Europe’s last primeval forests. Guests stay in a riverside rafting camp and enjoy an excursion to the historic Herzegovinian town of Trebinje.

The final leg of the trip takes us back to Croatia where we will explore the beautiful cities of Split and Trogir.

This tour combines history, faith heritage, local cuisine, and wilderness in a relaxed small-group setting designed for travelers seeking authentic and meaningful experiences.

Why This Tour Is Special

This journey reveals a side of Bosnia & Herzegovina that many travelers never experience. Rather than focusing only on major tourist sites, the itinerary combines cultural heritage, spiritual traditions, and remarkable natural landscapes in a way that tells the deeper story of the country.

Travelers explore the historic layers of Sarajevo, visit the medieval royal town of Jajce, and encounter centuries-old Franciscan traditions in central Bosnia. The journey then moves into the dramatic wilderness of Sutjeska National Park, where guests explore the ancient Perućica Primeval Forest—one of the last primeval forests in Europe.

Along the way, guests enjoy authentic regional cuisine, local wine, scenic drives, and meaningful cultural encounters. The experience is designed to balance history, nature, and relaxed exploration, with time to enjoy landscapes, conversations, and local hospitality.

With a small group of travelers, the tour offers a more personal and immersive way to experience the region.

This tour is ideal for travelers who:

• Enjoy history, culture, and storytelling while exploring new destinations
• Appreciate nature and scenic landscapes, including national parks and wilderness areas

• Are comfortable with moderate walking in historic towns and natural areas

The itinerary includes scenic drives, cultural visits, short walks through historic towns, and time in nature, but it is designed to maintain a relaxed pace rather than a physically demanding schedule.
