About this trip


During this week long luxury retreat we dive into yoga practices to activate and balance the 7 chakras. Chakras are energy centers that run along the spine up to the crown of the head, and each is linked to particular physical and emotional characteristics. For most, these centers are blocked, inactive or overactive, thus creating imbalance leading to stress and possibly disease. Each day we'll focus on one chakra and move through asana, pranayama, and meditation practices specific to that chakra. 

Our morning practice is Vinyasa and pranayama, and the evening alternates between Hatha and Yin followed by meditation. The combination of dynamic and gentle practices helps balance feminine and masculine energies that we all possess. In addition, there will be 2 guided yoga nidra classes. Depending on weather, some classes will take place outside at the beach or on the property. You'll also receive one 1-hr private Reiki energy session. The retreat schedule allows time for relaxation, exploring the area, and enjoying local outdoor activities. 

The meals are lovingly made fresh daily using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, and prepared by a local chef. To cultivate ahimsa (non-violence), our menu will be vegan. Breakfast and a 3-course dinner will be served on most days. Please see schedule below for further details. 


Villa La Pena is a spacious and secluded luxury property with extensive grounds, yoga studio, outdoor yoga platform, and indoor/outdoor swimming pools. It sits in a stunning elevated position in the La Pena area of Tarifa, nestled between mountains and sea with panoramic views over miles of sandy beaches. Facing the Straits of Gibraltar, it looks east towards the Rif Mountains and west to Tangiers, Morocco.

Tarifa is a unique cosmopolitan coastal town steeped in historical significance as mainland Europe's southern most point, where the Mediterranean and Atlantic meet. It offers an array of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, horseback riding, and is well known for wind and kitesurfing. There are a few cafes and restaurants within a 15 minute walk of Villa La Pena, as well as other dining, shopping, and cultural sites in and around the city center. Because of its close proximity to Morocco, a day trip to Tangiers is only a 40 minute ferry ride. 


There are six twin-share bedroom suites available. Four are ensuite and two have a shared bathroom between them. These are double occupancy rooms in which you will be paired with and share with another solo guest. If you're coming with a friend or as a couple, please note at time of booking so you are placed together.

*Dinner only on arrival, and breakfast only on Thursday and departure day. We will dine at a local restaurant on Thursday night of the retreat. This is optional and all related costs are NOT included in the retreat price. If you choose not to join, you are responsible for your own dinner.

Catherine Coe
Originally from the United States, Catherine has been living throughout southeast Asia for 5 years. During this time, she received her 200-hr Hatha Yoga certification in Thailand, and 100-hr Yin Yoga certification on Bali. She has had the opportunity to learn from various teachers and hold space for students from around the world in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India, Thailand, China, and United States. Catherine offers Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Pranayama, Meditation, and Yoga Nidra. Her blend of spiritual and practical teachings safely invite you to dive into deeper layers of your being. In her classes, you will be met where you’re at through mindful sequences adapted for specific needs and levels. Catherine has had a personal practice for 8 years, been teaching for 3 years, and pursung her dream of leading yoga retreats around the world. In addition, she’s a certified Reiki practitioner and jewelry designer, and loves cooking, moonsets, traveling, and navigating this trip called life.
