It is regarded as one of the most beautiful routes on Kilimanjaro with spectacular scenery and an abundance of wildlife. We begin from the west, trekking in the fertile rain forest until we reach the wildflowers of the Heath Ecosystem. We then cross the stunning Shira Plateau before traversing the mountain along the southern circuit. Each of the 7 nights on Mount Kilimanjaro will be spent in our high quality four season expedition tents. Tipping is $200 per person per trip / $400 total for both of you to the team, the head guide will divide evenly. This is usually given at the end of the trip.
YOUR DAILY ROUTINE ON THE MOUNTAIN
DAY 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa
Elevation: 7,742ft - 9,498ft
Distance: 4 miles
Hiking time: 3-4 hrs
Habitat: Rain forest
We depart Arusha for Londorossi Gate, roughly a 4-hour drive, where you will complete the entry formalities. We will then drive to the Lemosho trailhead and upon arrival, we will begin the hike through undisturbed forest which winds its way to the first campsite. Keep your eyes peeled for the blue monkeys swinging through the trees!
