At 5:00 am, we started the activity to Salamanca for an hour. In this place there are mangroves, with a very dense population Bicoloured Conebill , sharing habitat with Protonotary warbler and Northern waterthrush. Also you can see the Sapphire-bellied Hummingbird. Along the coast we will see Magnificent frigatebird and numerous Brown pelicans and a host of herons and waders out in the marshes of the Reddish Egret, Tricolored and Great Blue Herons, Yellow-crowned Night-Heron, Osprey, Common Black Hawk, Semipalmated and Wilson's Plovers, Willet, Hudsonian Whimbrel, Short-billed Dowitcher, Stilt Sandpiper and Gull-billed, Caspian, Royal and Sandwich Terns. Other widespread species that we see, or in other parts of the Santa Marta region, including Savannah and Zone-tailed Hawks, Pearl Kite, Common Ground Dove, Northern Scrub Flycatcher, Bicolored Wren, Red-eyed Vireo, Trinidad Euphonia, grayish Saltator and Great-tailed Grackle.

Night Hotel La Jorara

In the morning we'll explore the tropical dry forests of the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, to discover its natural beauties: landscapes, wildlife. Especially the Birds, the most beautiful animals in nature such as toucans, parrots, hummingbirds and flycatchers. Birds of interest: White-bellied Antbird, Black-crowned Antshrike, Gartered Trogon, King Vulture, Lance-tailed Manakin, golden-headed manakin, white-bearded manakin and many more. 

Lunch in the reserve. In the afternoon we move to the peninsula of La Guajira with stops on the way to register some birds of interest.

We'll enjoy all the richness of this marvelous area with many birds with a very short distribution, taste delicious sea food and know about the wayuu indigenous cultures. we'll leave La Jorara Hotel at 5 am to  departure to Camarones(a arid village with many birds) 

Camarones has good popularity casuse it's the northern extreme of Colombia and it shares many birds with the northwest of venezuela... all of these birds are called Near-endemic cause are only found in this 2 points of the world.

besides this, it is a point of importance for migratory birds.

Birds of interest: Vermilian cardinal,  Pearly-vented Tody-Tyrant, Slender-billed Tyrannulet Glaucous Tanager Orinocan Saltator Black-faced Grassquit, Buffy Hummingbird, Chesnut piculet, Black-crested antshrike, black-back antshrike, and many more!

Night in HOTEL MINCA LA CASONA

 we gonna take breakfast early morning, after breakfast we continue birding along the way to the El Dorado Reserve, get to el Dorado where we gonna take lunch, stay the night and enjoy all the endemic birds. Birds of interest  Santa Marta Brushfinch, Sierra nevada brushfinch, white-tailed starfronlet, santa marta woostar, santa marta brossoncrown, black-fronted wood quail, white-lored warbler, santa marta tapaculo, and many  more.

2:30 - 6:00 Birding around the lodge

7:00 Dinner and after that we could go finding owls.

Wake up at 4:30am and start driving up to the top of the mountain where can be seen endemic species only found there such as Santa Marta Warbler, Santa Marta parakeet, Rufous Antpitta, Brown-rumped tapaculo, rusty-breasted spinetail, streak-capped spinetail, Santa Marta Antpitta, and many more.

 After taking breakfast we'll leave the reserve, we will start going down to  Minca... on road to minca we gonna look for interesting birds such as: Rosy Thrush-Tanager, Scaled piculet, keel-billed toucan, Solitary eagle, Santa Marta Foliage-gleaner, and many more.
