Samburu National Reserve overview: One of the famous Safari destinations in East Africa, Samburu National Reserve is located in Northern Kenya and is a premier game reserve situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River. This vast expanse of remote pristine wilderness measures 165 square kilometers in area and borders the Ewaso Ng'iro River to the south, which separates it from the Buffalo Springs National Reserve. Samburu Reserve is a unique wildlife conservation haven famous for an abundance of rare species of animals such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. The reserve is also home to a population of close to 900 Elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction (Kamunyak the famous Lioness that adapted a baby Oryx is a resident in the reserve). Samburu is infact one of the better locations in Kenya to spot Leopard. Wild dog sightings are also a common attraction to this unique protected area and Birdlife is abundant with over 450 recorded species.

 Today enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge as we start the drive to Ol Pejeta. Arrive by afternoon, post-check-in, have lunch and then proceed for an afternoon game drive at the famous Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwater’s Serena Camp.

Olpejeta Conservancy overview: Ol Pejeta is one of the prime sanctuaries of Laikipia Plateau and all of the Big Five are present. Its highlights include the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa’s refuge for the last two northern white rhino left in the world; and Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary, housing orphaned and abandoned chimpanzees. It has some of the highest predator densities in the region, and aside from the big cats, there is a chance of seeing wild dogs. Other endangered species here include the beisa Oryx, Jackson’s hartebeest and Grevy’s zebra.

  Today we set off for a full day game drive in this Conservancy.  Ol Pejeta is one of the prime sanctuaries of Laikipia Plateau and all of the Big Five are present. Its highlights include the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa; a population of southern white rhino; a refuge for the last two northern white rhino left in the world; and Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary, housing orphaned and abandoned chimpanzees (visit entrance payable directly, if any). Dinner and overnight at Sweetwater’s Serena Camp.

  After breakfast drive, drive to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving for lunch at Sopa lake Nakuru Camp. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Lake Nakuru Overview: Nakuru National Park, the park most famous for the colonies of flamingos that live on the shores of the park’s Lake Nakuru. Lake Nakuru Park Kenya is a premium game park, one of only three in the country and one of the most visited game parks in Kenya. Lake Nakuru Park is known as bird lover’s hub because of the numerous birds that make home in this park. Lake Nakuru Kenya Park is home to over 400 bird species including the flamingos that live on the lake and in the park’s savannah grasslands.  Nakuru National Park though famous for the numerous birds, it’s also a wild game destination for animal lovers and wildlife explorers.  Lake Nakuru park  is a habitat  to over 100 endangered  Rhinos distributed between the black and white rhinos; the park is also home to the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe and other 50 or more animal species that include buffalos, waterbucks, lions, impalas and many more. 

  After breakfast drive to the Mara National Reserve to arrive for lunch at the Mara Sopa Lodge. Afternoon game drive in the park. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

  After breakfast, embark on a full game drive in the Mara with lunch boxes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Masai Mara Overview: The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous parks. The wildlife viewing is superb throughout the year. The grassy plains and regular rainfall supports a huge population of herbivores, in turn attracting many predators. All three big cats are relatively easy to see. The yearly wildebeest migration coming through the park is one of the world’s most amazing wildlife spectacles. The Wildebeest Migration – The Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is home to the annual wildebeest migration where 2.5 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelles follow the rains in search of new grass. They make their way from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara somewhere around July and August, and usually arrive in September. The crossing of the Mara River along the way is one of the highlights of this spectacular event. They slowly head back into Tanzania around October

  After breakfast, return to Nairobi for your continued travel arrangements.
