Your Journey

Your safari begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport with a warm Swahili welcome before continuing to Arusha. From Arusha, travel by road to Tarangire National Park, where elephants, ancient baobabs, and diverse wildlife define the opening days. Explore the Silale Swamp before enjoying an evening game drive and sundowner along the Tarangire River.

From Tarangire, continue by road to the Ngorongoro Highlands, with a visit to a traditional Maasai boma along the way. Continue to the Ngorongoro area before descending into the crater for a full day of wildlife viewing and a picnic lunch. After ascending to the rim, travel via Olduvai Gorge before continuing to Ndutu. Spend two full days exploring Ndutu during the Great Migration calving season, when thousands of wildebeest gather across the short grass plains to give birth. The abundance of newborn calves also attracts predators, creating exceptional opportunities to observe lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other wildlife. From Ndutu, continue by road to the Central Serengeti for further game viewing across the Seronera region, with an optional hot air balloon experience available.

At the end of the safari, take a scenic flight from the Serengeti to Arusha, bringing together ten days of wildlife, migration, culture, and remarkable landscapes.

Welcome to Tanzania. Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will receive a warm Swahili welcome before being transferred to Arusha Serena Hotel, where you can settle in and relax after your journey.

The remainder of the day is at leisure, giving you time to rest and prepare for the safari ahead. Enjoy a relaxed evening at the hotel before your journey into Tanzania's wildlife regions begins the following morning.

Overnight:  Arusha Serena Hotel 

After breakfast, depart Arusha by road and journey towards Tarangire National Park, known for its ancient baobab trees, open landscapes, and large elephant herds.

Upon arrival, begin your first game drive through the park, with opportunities to encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and other wildlife. Continue to Nyikani Camp Tarangire for dinner and a relaxed evening surrounded by the wilderness.

Spend another full day exploring Tarangire National Park, with a particular focus on Silale Swamp, an important wildlife area where water and lush vegetation attract a variety of animals. Keep watch for elephants, buffalo, antelope, and other wildlife that gather around the swamp and surrounding woodland.

After lunch, head out for an evening game drive, when the cooler temperatures bring increased wildlife activity across the park. Later, enjoy a sundowner by the riverbank, taking in the changing colours of the landscape before returning to camp for dinner.

After breakfast, leave Tarangire and continue by road towards the Ngorongoro Highlands. As you travel, the landscape gradually changes from the open plains of Tarangire to the lush highlands surrounding the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

En route, visit a Maasai boma for an opportunity to experience local culture and learn more about traditional Maasai life, customs, and community. Continue into the highlands and arrive at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, where you can settle in and enjoy the spectacular surroundings.

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of exploration within the dramatic volcanic caldera. The crater floor supports an exceptional concentration of wildlife, offering opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest, and other species.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during your time in the crater before ascending back to the rim. Later, continue by road via Olduvai Gorge, often referred to as the Cradle of Humankind, before continuing onward to Ndutu.

Arrive in the Ndutu area, the heart of the calving-season landscape, where vast herds and newborn animals create one of Tanzania's most remarkable wildlife experiences.

Spend the day exploring Ndutu, where the Great Migration gathers during the calving season. The nutrient-rich plains provide an important environment for thousands of wildebeest and other herbivores, while the abundance of newborn animals attracts predators.

Enjoy game drives across the Ndutu landscape, looking for wildebeest, zebra, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and other wildlife. Return to camp after your safari for a relaxed evening in the heart of the migration region.

After breakfast, depart Ndutu by road and continue towards the Central Serengeti, travelling deeper into the vast landscapes of one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife destinations.

As you enter the Central Serengeti, continue with game viewing along the way, with opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, and other wildlife. Arrive at Nyikani Camp Central Serengeti and settle in for the evening.
