What to expect:
Guests will arrive at Co-Motion Cycles, by bike, train, plane, or car, on the afternoon of Friday, August 25th. Guests will get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes tour of Co-Motion to see how custom touring bikes are built from the ground up.
Guests are welcome to join for a group dinner on Friday evening (location TBD based on guest preference), and are responsible for their own accommodations Friday night. Riders can camp in one of Eugene's many excellent campgrounds or stay in a hotel or other accommodation.
On Saturday morning (to beat the heat), we'll depart for a ~35 mile guided ride to Clay Creek Recreation Site outside beautiful Eugene, Oregon. At Clay Creek, there will be camping, hiking, swimming, games, and other activities for riders to enjoy on Saturday. Dinner will be served on Saturday evening (guests can also opt to stay in a hotel for the evening). In the morning, we'll pack up and ride back to Co-Motion where guests can socialize and enjoy all Eugene has to offer.
A few things to note:
1) As of now, this is our expected route. The route is subject to change and we may take some slightly different roads on the way back to switch things up, but regardless, riders should expect to ride approximately 35 miles each way with ~2,000 feet of climbing. While this is a guided trip, it is not fully supported and riders are expected to be able to complete the distance self-supported. Being in Western Oregon, there is a decent amount of climbing. Guests will need to carry their gear with them on their bikes or plan to get it to the campground some other way.
2) It is usually hot in August in Oregon. For this reason, we are planning on leaving in the morning on both Saturday in Sunday so that riders can arrive before the hottest part of the day. Additionally,
I can't wait to see you there!
