Today We’ll immediately immerse ourselves in the city’s culture and stories by visiting the city’s historical landmarks including the W.E.B. Du Bois Center for Pan African Culture, Independence/Black Star Square and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. Next visit, we’ll visit various marketplaces to shop for souvenirs, beautiful African fabrics, and handmade crafts.
Today we take a journey toward the Cape Coast, stopping at a village and be welcomed back to the motherland by the king with a traditional welcome and naming ceremony. We will be immersed in this experience with prayers and traditional ceremonies offered by chiefs and elders. a Ghanaian name is given to participants, and a gift presented as part of celebrating a new identity as a Ghanaian and a member of the local community. Afterwards, we’ll visit Assin Manso Slave River Park, the place where slaves had their last bath in before they were taken to the slave forts.
Today, we will embark on a tour of the infamous Forts, Castles, and Slave Dungeons of Ghana. We will stand in the dark and stuffy dungeons and trace the steps of our African ancestors before their brutal voyage across the Atlantic Ocean toward America. After, we will pass through the "door of no return" where enslaved Africans exited and left their homeland. Today, the "door of no return" has been commemorated as the "door of return" to await the descendants of those who were forcefully taken. We will have a door of return ceremony here to mark the emancipation of enslaved people of African descent. We will end this emotional day with cultural performance with drumming and dancing to honor our ancestors’ resilience.
Today you will continue our voyage throughout Cape Coast and head to Kakum National Park, one of West Africa’s surviving tropical rain forests. We will explore on a short nature walk through the rain forest to discover the wide variety of exotic flora and fauna species. We’ll also take a walk on the canopy walkway that is suspended 100 feet above the tree-tops.
Today we will travel to Aburi Mountain for Yoga and Meditation in the serene atmosphere of Aburi Botanical Gardens. Aburi botanical gardens and other beautiful gardens are where we allow you to partake the yoga in the garden experience.
Today we'll will have the option to travel to Boti Falls, which is referred to as nature’s undiscovered beauty in Ghana.
Today, we'll explore the fragrant and exotic flavours of West African cuisine as we learn how to create authentic Ghanaian dishes with a local chief. After learning the recipes, you will enjoy eating the feast you’ve helped to prepare.
