In addition to four yoga classes and a meditation workshop, you'll have the opportunity to pamper yourself with a world class massage,  explore the gorgeous hiking trails in and around the property, or just chill out with new friends and visit with farm animals who call this special place home. 

The Place - The Kaaterskill Inn:
With sweeping views of the Catskill Mountains and over 32 acres of breathtaking scenery, the Kaaterskill is a retreat like no other.
 Blessed with charm and good looks, this magnificent property boasts the best of what the Catskills has to offer: spectacular mountain vistas, acres of wooded and pastoral land, beautiful foot paths that wind along lazy rivers, age-old trees and more wildlife than a night out in Manhattan! Explore the grounds to see the landscapes and natural ecology that inspired the local Hudson River School artists.

The main guest house, a magnificent restored Dutch barn, houses the property’s luxury guest suites. But don’t let the countrified surrounds fool you: These rooms were designed with the contemporary traveler in mind. Modern luxuries abound, from jacuzzi bathtubs and spacious quarters, to in-suite fireplaces and private patios.
Secluded and unforgettable, the Kaaterskill is your connection to nature…at its most luxurious.

The Yoga: 
The vinyasa flow style yoga taught by Kathy, is a creative sequence of poses designed to encourage students to connect their body, mind, and spirit through strengthening, lengthening and opening. They include gentle hands on adjustments and personalized attention (if you want it!).
The classes are set to inspiring music and incorporate a scented savassana massage (a favourite)!.The second yoga class (in the late afternoon) will be more restorative in nature, incorporating gentle hatha, restorative and yin poses. The classes are suitable for all levels of yogi’s.

The Food: 
We take food very seriously! It’s not just the act of nourishment, but the source of energy. The primarily pescatarian menu, is locally inspired and has been designed to provide organic, fresh foods to nourish the body and soul.

Friday, August 5th, 2016: 

3:00 pm – Check-in, explore, meet new friends, enjoy a beverage 
5:30-6:45 pm – Slow Flow Yoga Class
7:00 pm – Apps and cocktail
7:30 pm – Dinner
9:00 pm – Bonfire and chilling

Saturday, August 6th, 2016:

7:00-8:00 am – Optional Meditation, journaling, master cleanse
8:00-9:15 am – Energizing Vinyasa Flow Yoga Class
9:30-10:30 am – Breakfast
11:00 – 12:00 pm –  Workshop (meditation, pose workshop or farm tour) 
1:30-2:30 Lunch
11:00-5:30 - time for hikes, massage,  reading and relaxing
5:30-6:45 – Restorative Flow Yoga Class 
7:00  – Apps and cocktail
7:30 - Dinner
9:00 - Bonfire

Sunday, August 7th, 2016:

7:00-8:00 am – Optional Meditation, journaling, master cleanse
8:15-9:30 am – Energizing Vinyasa Flow Yoga
9:45-11:00 am – Brunch

What's Included

* 2 nights accommodation in main guest house in one of the following luxury guest suites: 

-  Single Accommodation - 1 King Bed   ($950 pp / $1,030 incl tax)
-  Double Accommodation - 2 Queen Beds ($750 pp / $810 incl tax)
-  Double Accommodation - 1 King Bed  ($750 pp / $810 incl tax)
-  Triple Accommodation - 1 King Bed, Sofa Bed  ($700 pp / $760 incl tax)

All rates include a 8% NY sales tax.

A $250 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining amount is due 14 days before the trip start date (July 22, 2016).

*All fresh, healthy, farm to table meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks). 

Note:  Meals will be mostly vegetarian, with the option of fish and seafood at select meals.  

*Refreshing pre-dinner cocktail 

(Note: Many people on retreat may wish to have a mini-detox from sugary foods and alcohol. But, this is your retreat! If you would like to have wine with dinner, there will be wine/cocktails for purchase).

*Four yoga classes (vinyasa flow and flow restorative)

*One meditation and/or mindfulness workshop 

*Use of the grounds: farm tour (lots of farm animals!), hikes around and near the property.

*Evening bonfires

Before You Go

If it's possible, arrive as close as you can to 3:00 on Friday so that you can take full advantage of this retreat time!

By Plane: 
The closest airports to The Kaaterskill are Albany International Airport (737 Albany Shaker Rd, Albany, NY), and Stewart International Airport (1180 1st St, New Windsor, NY). There are various rental cars available on or near these airport locations.

By Train:
Metro North / Poughkeepsie 
Amtrack / Hudson – Front St, Hudson, NY

If you're arriving to the Hudson train station, a taxi to the retreat is approximately $25-$30.

What to bring?

We have mats, blocks and blankets in our beautiful yoga space. That said, if you really like your yoga mat, we recommend you bring it with you! 

Bring comfortable clothing for practicing both inside and outside. The evening practice will be more restorative in nature, so bring a long sleeve shirt with you.
There is a creek nearby that is wonderful for swimming, so bring your suit, sunscreen and hat.
