Enjoy an early morning breakfast before we take a game drive on a local reserve to hopefully see all of Africa’s Big 5! This ensures that your money and efforts are going directly back into the community and keeping the reserve in tip top shape for our African animals. In the afternoon, we will head to the township to engage with the locals at the markets whilst gathering all of your very local ingredients for dinner. We will cook a sustainable and organic dinner together to enjoy the end of our day.

After a full nights rest we will wake up to explore the quaint village of Bathurst in the morning. Home to the longest continuously owned and operated pub in South Africa, The Historic Pig & Whistle, Bathurst is known for it’s laid-back way of life. Many artists call this lovely hamlet home.

In the afternoon, engage in the local township, helping with community gardens, and lending a hand with the local football team’s litter removal initiative.

Today is all about learning about South Africa and how the beautiful country has evolved throughout history. We will start by taking a cultural and historical tour through the area. Guided by a local, former journalist. Our local guide has been in the area for more than 30 years, and this area is rich with modern South African history. Get first-hand accounts from locals of life under Apartheid through the birth of the Rainbow Nation and the struggles still faced today.

Prepare for departure to Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) International Airport (airport code: PLZ), you will enjoy a scenic drive down the Sunshine Coast. But before we say goodbye we will stop at a local Farm Stall for one last breakfast or lunch depending on your departure and enjoy one last meal together.
