A week of yoga, food and community in the South of Spain
May 7th - 14th
with Lisa Fraipont and Aly Beveridge
25 hours Katonah Yoga bankable towards certification
ALY BEVERIDGE
Aly Beveridge is a chef and katonah yoga teacher based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She has always felt a special connection to food and eating, and recently has explored food as a sacred practice.
Aly believes that the implicit of eating is just as important as the explicit.
She has cooked for yoga retreats and trainings all over the world and has spent time living, learning, and eating, in Portugal, Thailand, India, and Denmark. When she has free time you can find Aly solving a crossword puzzle, drinking wine with friends, or attempting to surf.
LISA FRAIPONT
Lisa is a Katonah Yoga teacher from Brussels, Belgium.
She’s been teaching hatha yoga for 5 years and found real joy when she discovered Katonah Yoga through Dages Juvelier Keates in Paris in 2018.
She then immersed herself in the practice and the theory and learned with a lot of different teachers.
When she’s not teaching she love to bake sourdough bread or to knit all kinds of hats, playing with technique, pattern & repetition ;)
Early bird (until March 10th) : 950 € in a shared double room (twin bed) with attached bathroom
After March 10th : 1150 € in a shared double room (twin bed) with attached bathroom
Upon registration we ask you for a downpayment of 200€, non refundable.
The balance is due for the 7th of April.
Where : the Finca is situated in the South of Spain, next to the natural parc of la Breña and close to Vejer de la Frontera, one of the iconic Pueblos Blancos of Andalusia.
The house is in a quiet street, safe from the wind, but close to the Atlantic beaches where you can surf, swim and walk alongside the cliffs.
Vejer the le Frontera is less than a two hour drive from Sevilla or 2h30 from Malaga. We'll connect the students to share rentals cars and to get there together :)
When: A 7 days retreat from Sunday May 7th afternoon ( check in at 5pm) to Sunday 14th after breakfast (check out at 10am)
What: 2 yoga sessions a day: a dynamic practice in the morning + a breathwork session or a soothing practice in the late afternoon. We'll have time for workshops in the afternoon, exploring the concepts and asana of Katonah Yoga: expect adjustments, theory and conversations.
We'll be happy to tailor the week to your needs and questions, practicing together and collaborating on what we're including in the workshop sessions and classes.
Food will be a big part of the week - we'll explore our relationship with ingredients, techniques and recipes, going to the market together, learning a few recipes and preparing food together a few times during the week.
We're keeping this retreat small and intimate with a max number of 12 participants :)
Keep in mind that this is not a hotel or a retreat venue with staff. You can make your own bed (or not) and we'll always appreciate your help cleaning up after meals <3
In Katonah yoga we use a set of measured techniques and sacred metaphors to explore our yoga practice. Through breath, movement, and meditation we perform bodily alchemy. However, a yoga practice alone does not account for the inputs into our body.
Food and eating play an important role as a tool and technique for relating to the world. During the week we will explore actual and metaphysical practices we shape around food in our lives, in order to build a set of tools and techniques that mirror the ones we use in yoga. We'll use this week to explore our different practices, how we eat, how we move, how we spend our time together, to share the techniques that we have all refined during the years and to keep on practicing.
Unlike a typical yoga retreat, we will spend the week focusing just as much on how food plays an important role in our lives in addition to spending some juicy sessions moving together.
