Imagine a world where the joy of birding knows no boundaries – and where urban landscapes become vibrant havens for birders and nature enthusiasts of all backgrounds. The American Birding Association’s Community Weekends are bringing this vision to life.
ABA Community Weekends are more than just birding excursions; they’re opportunities for meaningful connections. By bringing ABA members and the wider birding community together in person, we foster a sense of friendship, camaraderie, and shared passion for the avian world. We’re committed to breaking down barriers to birding by making our weekends free, convenient, and accessible. From bird identification and field trips to photography sessions, art workshops, research, conservation, mindfulness, and beyond – we’re bringing a spectrum of activities to make birding attractive to all. Together, we’re building a network of kindred spirits dedicated to spreading the joy of birding, growing and diversifying our community, and contributing to the protection and conservation of wild birds for generations to come. Join us in our mission to inspire all people to enjoy and protect wild birds, creating a brighter, more inclusive future for both people and birds alike.
The ABA Community are free, but we do ask you to register for the weekends and activities you intend to participate in.
