Eight days through the Yukon, a territory that still feels like the edge of the map. From Whitehorse, the route winds south to Carcross and the lake immortalized in Robert Service's "The Cremation of Sam McGee," then north to Dawson City, a gold rush town that never quite let go of its past, with a hike up Midnight Dome for sweeping views over the valley. From there, gravel roads lead into Tombstone Territorial Park for a hike among jagged peaks and amber tundra, before looping back through Whitehorse to Kluane National Park, home to Canada's highest peaks and the continent's largest non-polar icefield, capped off with the climb up King's Throne. One loop, eight days, four hikes, and a part of Canada most people only ever see in photos.
