About this trip

experience the top of the underwater world in Gordo Banks.

Gordo Banks is an underwater mountain located 5 miles off the coast of San Jose del Cabo, at a distance of 2 hours in our boat (The Abyss) from the bay of Cabo San Lucas. In this peculiar dive site the minimum depth is 110 ft/ 33 m. The bottom is full of gardens of black corals, soft corals, fans, countless invertebrates and different tropical fish.

Because it is a pinnacle so far from the coast, it has the transit of different pelagic and migratory species such as manta rays, hammerhead sharks, dorados, marlins, whales in season, whale sharks, and more! The possibilities of having these encounters are only given by Gordo Banks.

Challenging conditions require divers to be PADI Advanced Open Water and NITROX Certified. For safety requirements, we request a reconnaissance dive prior to departure. If you are not yet Advanced Diver or certified to dive with NITROX, contact us and we will advise you on the different options to obtain your certifications.

Nautilus Dive Tech was fantastic. Dael (owner) made sure we had everything we needed. Nico, the dive instructor, went above and beyond to make sure the PADI learning was effective, efficient, and fun. I have a little fear of water and he made sure I felt safe. His skill and demeanor were paramount to my success in getting certified.
