About this trip

Join Todd Skoglund, owner of South Boston Yoga, for 6 days of Adventure & Yoga in the Azores, Portugal! The Azores are a magical, volcanic land, full of natural, raw beauty, a temperate climate and endless outdoor activities. Truly an adventure lovers paradise, and under 6 hours from Boston.


Our days will include always optional yoga classes with Todd, as well as hikes to some of the most incredible vistas on the island, soaks in natural hot springs, and exploration of neighboring towns and beaches. 


There will also be plenty of time for relaxation amongst the beautiful gardens and fruit orchards of Quinta Minuvida, our home for the week. All meals are included, and will be nourishing, fresh, and delicious, so that you can get a true taste of Azorean fare.

Meet Your Instructor - Todd Eric Skoglund:


From a host of various athletic activities and movement modalities, including various martial arts, calisthenics, gymnastics and acrobatics, I fell in love with the practice of yoga for its ability to ground me in the present moment, uniting my internal world with external experience. My teaching focuses on moving from one's center through fun and creative sequencing, movement, and isometric and eccentric muscle engagement. Rather than teaching "stretching" or focusing on flexibility I encourage whole-body strength building and mobility throughout the practice. Each class is taught with light-hearted purpose and with great respect for my students' health and safety. 


Todd co-owns South Boston Yoga, where he teaches all levels classes, advanced asana and co-directs teacher trainings. Todd also teaches classes at Equinox Clubs in Boston and workshops around the US and abroad.

*5 Nights / 6 Days lodging at Quinta Minuvida

*Three locally sourced meals daily, some at Quinta Minuvida and some at nearby restaurants, or out picnic style

*Two group excursions to some of the island’s best hikes, relaxing hot springs, beaches and local towns, including all guides and transportation

*Roundtrip airport transfers from Ponta Delgada Airport (PDL) to Quinta Minuvida and back (about a 15 minute ride each way).

*Airfare to Ponta Delgada (PDL) - we will provide you with info on which exact flights to book. Expect to spend around $500. We fly SATA (Azores) Air and they let you bring one checked bag AND one personal piece of sporting equipment (surfboard, bike, etc.) for FREE!

*Most alcoholic beverages (one is included with each dinner)

These suites contain two separate bedrooms, each with two twin beds or a set of bunkbeds, and a shared bathroom. Total of 4 people in each suite. We are happy to pair you with like-minded roommates!

This studio apartment style suite features a full kitchen, private bathroom and open sleeping space that can accommodate up to two people. 


Cost is $1595 per person for a double occupancy room. A $500 surcharge will be added if you'd like this as a single.

Let me start off by saying this trip was an incredible experience. I can't thank Jenna and Nina enough for bringing together such an amazing group of people. We had 33 people on this retreat, and everyone got along great. We ranged in ages, gender, yoga experience, life experience, etc., and we were all able to connect on some level. I know we all made some lifelong friends on this retreat. Better yet, we have some excuses to travel and visit new friends in new places. What I love about Jenna and Nina is that they had a schedule in place for yoga practices as well as a couple excursions. But the best part of all of that is that it was all optional, and there was no judgment. Too tired to get up for 8am yoga? Jenna and Nina encouraged us to listen to our bodies and sleep in. They led wonderful yoga classes that challenged us when we needed it, but they also led classes that nurtured our bodies when we were exhausted from hiking. They even led morning meditations that were open and encouraging, especially to anyone who is new to meditation or doesn't have a current meditation practice. What this all boils down to is that this was my husband's and my first yoga retreat, and we just keep talking about the next one. So, I want to give a big thanks to Nina and Jenna for putting on an amazing retreat, and a big thank you to Solseed for being our guides and helping us with the lay of the land at Lake Atitlan. It was a big success for everyone, and I hope we all get a chance to reconnect another time.

This was my first yoga retreat and I could not have asked for a better experience, group of people, or teachers. Nina and Jenna both brought a lot of variety in yoga and teaching experience to each class during the week. They held guided meditations, more traditional vinyasa classes, and workshop-style classes. In one week, there was opportunities to do inversion, arm balance, yoga basics, happy back and heart opener workshops. I learned something new with each class, whether how to get into a specific pose or how to be patient and caring of my body on and off the mat. We had an incredible opportunity to work with Mayan Families and spend time teaching pre-school aged children yoga and art classes. The experience was very grounding and an incredible opportunity to give back to the community, learn and experience Guatemalan culture. Lake Atitlan is the perfect place for adventure and rejuvenation. The group of people on the retreat were all friendly, kind, and brought a positive energy to the entire week. I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to experience Guatemala in such a unique way with two amazing teachers, great guidance from Solseed, and a wonderful group of yogis. I'm already looking forward to my next retreat with Jenna and Nina!
A trip of a lifetime. First, Nina and Jenna were the best spirit guides to take us all through this journey. Having only taken beginner yoga classes, I was initially nervous whether I could keep up. Not the case. They organized a retreat that was both accessible and pushed my practice to the next level. They created a safe environment to try new things, ask questions and challenge your assumptions. They were also spectacular teachers and mentors beyond just my yoga practice offering advice and counsel on meditation, books, and life! Thank you both for an outstanding trip. Second, I definitely can't forget Ian and Kristin from Solseed. They are like chameleon tour guides that adapt and flex to accommodate every need on the trip whether it was organizing different daily excursions, handing out tailored advice based on your needs, or even accommodating some crazy requests (Super Bowl watch party in rural Guatemala. They made it happen). They accept every request with open arms and accommodate it graciously. In addition to Nina and Jenna, they worked alongside the entire group creating a communal culture (versus servitude or experts looking down on us). Thank you for your compassion and optimism. Overall, can't wait for my next adventure with this group.

Let me just start by saying that I never in a million years thought I would go on a yoga retreat, but I am so grateful that I did. This was hands down the best thing I have ever done for myself!! Nina and Jenna are amazing teachers with so much knowledge to offer to anyone’s physical and spiritual practice. They are two of the most wonderful, down to earth, kind humans, and I am so lucky to have shared this experience with them. Our retreat was a combination of people from all over the country and beyond. I feel like this was the most important take home from my retreat- getting out of my Boston bubble and connecting with different types of people with various life experiences. Each day was filled with optional activities and our teachers were so flexible with practice times etc to ensure that we all got the most out of the retreat experience. The energy of our group was truly amazing and I returned home feeling totally refreshed. Kristin and Ian (Mom and dad of our retreat!) are the best!! Everything flowed seamlessly due to their behind the scenes work. They are experts at the retreat coordinating process and became our best resource and friends at the retreat. They are such a loving, supportive and fun couple. This is something I will be saving for every year. Going on a yoga retreat is an amazing way to travel the world, make new friends and rejuvenate your body and soul I’m so glad I took the plunge and went!

If you want to retreat yourself, you've come to the right place. Besides being wonderful human beings, Kristin and Ian at SolSeed are incredibly knowledgeable, fun, passionate and professional. The location was inspiringly beautiful with rich culture set in one of the world's geological marvels. The instructors, Jenna and Nina, are both excellent instructors and overall just wonderful, bright lights that are a joy to be with. The experience was a rejuvenating balance of fun with the group and time alone to reflect... depth with lightness, laughter and heart centered connections, daily yoga practice that uplifts and restores, delicious healthy meals, and acquaintances that become friends for life.... LAKE LIFE, BEST LIFE! I am filled with gratitude. Thank you. ❤🙏
