About this trip

Ever wanted to explore a country in a non-traditional-tourist way? This is definitely your chance to visit the country of Panama with an actual local. 

This retreat is all about going back to the AFRO roots of it all, explore the country with natives, work on your tan at the beach, dance to Latin and Caribbean music, and indulge delicious Afro-Caribbean cuisine. 


The concept of this retreat is to create awareness to the black community in Latin countries and educate others that are interested in our culture while having fun.

This trip was such a wonderful experience. I was not sure what to expect, but Des did an amazing job of showing us the Black history and culture of Panama in a way that could be appreciated by all. The group was intimate and engaged and our tour guide was very personable and knowledgeable. It was nice to also have a good amount of free time to connect with the other women and explore the city and nightlife on our own. I can't wait to go on the next Afro Latina Retreat!!
