Independence Square Tour
Get up close to key landmarks symbolizing Ghana’s independence struggle, including the Independence Arch, the Black Star Gate, and the Liberation Day Monument. Our photographer will also be on hand to capture an iconic photo of you here!
After the tour, we’ll return to the hotel so you can enjoy your evening at leisure—relax, recharge, and make the most of your time in Ghana!

We are going to hit the town in complete Afro Fashion (preferably something you bought from the Accra Craft Market while supporting local).
There will be a special gift for the best dressed male and the best dressed female who was able to bring out the most brilliant Afro Fashion Sense, so get ready and get chic with it!
Tonight, we are partying Ghanian style! Just come ready with good vibes only and let us do the rest! We will be making a few stops ;)
Today, please start the day with a hearty breakfast, then meet us in the lobby at 9:00 AM.
Wear comfortable sneakers—we’ll be doing quite a bit of walking throughout the day. Be sure to pack your bags, as we will be checking out for the night to depart for Cape Coast and not returning until the next day!
Stop for lunch
We will first stop at the Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River Park in Ghana. Known as the "Slave River" or site of the "Last Bath," this is where captured Africans took their final bath in native African waters before being sent to coastal dungeons like Cape Coast Castle
Next, we will be heading to Elmina Castle: “Door of No Return”
UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Door of No Return is a narrow metal passage that leads directly to the Atlantic Ocean, representing the final departure point for millions of enslaved Africans. The castle/fortress served as a major hub of the transatlantic slave trade.
This stop may be deeply emotional.
We will spend the rest of the evening in Cape Coast
Today was heavy. After settling the resort, clearing our minds, and showered, we will have a moment of reflection over bonfire on the beach.
We will write on paper all of what we wish to leave behind us while deciding how we plan to move ahead
Enjoy sunrise on the beach and breakfast by the pool. It's a slow morning to take in the coast.
We check out of the resort at 12pm.
Touring Mentors is a non-profit organization that serves to promote mentorship opportunities for marginalized youth globally. As a part of this trip, you will be able to join Touring Mentors in leaving an indelible mark on youth while in Ghana.
On our way back from Cape Coast, we will be visiting a group of youth who we will engage with in mentorship, while also imparting gifts of school supplies and other learning materials as a supportive resource in their educational goals.
