AfroCAN Fest is a movement built to uplift and empower people of color—and this 6-night, 7-day Ghana trip is the perfect way to experience that energy in real time. Curated for professionals, it’s part cultural journey, part travel fest, and part opportunity to connect with like-minded people—while taking in the history, spirit, and possibilities Ghana has to offer.

Expect a dynamic mix of:

• African culture - including its food, history, landmarks, and entertainment

• Festival-level moments and vibrant nightlife (yes—Detty December energy included)

• Real time relaxation and self-care including massage and beach trip

• Make new friends, travel buddies, and build long term relationships

From cultural dining experiences to iconic historical stops like the Door of No Return, you’ll also get to experience Ghana in a truly personal way—through moments like a naming ceremony, guided discovery, and experiences that feel both enriching and alive.

And it doesn’t stop there. AfroCAN also invites participants to give back by supporting local businesses and youth, while learning practical insights about investing in real estate in Africa.

This is more than a trip—it’s a full-circle opportunity to reconnect, grow, and celebrate what it means to be of Afro-roots: powerful, joyful, and deeply rooted.

• Arrive at the Kotoka International Airport -Accra (no later than 4pm on Dec 27th). From here, you will resume to take our designated shuttle service to the hotel

Check-in: Four Point Sheraton(Afternoon)

• Bell staff will assists with luggage.

• Time to settle: 60–90 minutes to unpack, freshen up, and enjoy the pool!

Welcome Mixer:

• Our welcome mixer will be at 8pm! Meet us in the lobby at 7:30pm! Dress code - cocktail elegance in red. As you arrive, you will be greeted with a warm welcome packet for you in a branded tote!

• We will get to know everyone on the trip, each others interest, and break the ice over toast and bites! It's about to be an epic week of making new friends, memories, connections with the motherland, and growing as AfroCAN professionals who travel!

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and join us in the lobby at 11am (tenative)! We are heading out to enjoy some relaxation time!

First stop, a massage on the beach! After all that traveling, it's only right that we knock out all the knots and unwind!

Your professional masseuse - male or female, will guide your body through tension release along with aromatheraphy and a foot scrub!

After, enjoy basking by the sea with your phone on silent to enjoy some beach time!

Enjoy lunch with us if desired at Sankofa Beach House!

Upon returning to the hotel, you will have the evening to relax some more! Perhaps, swing by the pool, have a toadt by the bar, or go explore the town!

Today we are going on an immersive cultural day tour which give you an insight in both the past and present of Ghana!

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before meeting us in the lobby at 10am. Today, we are wearing our gifted AfroCAN Tshirts!

To start, our driver will take us to meet our guide for a tour of:

Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park

• Discover the inspiring legacy of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana's visionary independence leader and first President.

W.E.B. DuBois Center

• Learn about Dr. W.E.B. Du Bois, one of the most influential Pan-Africanists in history and the visionary leader of the Pan-African Congresses.

Art & Craft Market

• Here, local artisans sell beautiful handcrafted goods, paintings, jewelry, and textiles. It’s a great place to pick up unique souvenirs. Here, you will have an opportunity to support local small businesses

Makola Market

• Next, we're off to experience some more local shopping at the largest market in Accra, Makola! Here, you can enjoy a bite of local flavors from vendors from fruits to meals while bargaining like a local.

Independence Square Tour

• Here you will see upfront Independence Arch, the Black Star Gate, and the Liberation Day Monument, all symbolizing Ghana's fight and struggle for independence! Our photographer will be sure to capture an iconic pic of you here!

After all the touring, we will return to the hotel so you can have your evening at leisure to relax, explore some more or go party to some afrobeats at one of the fun Detty December nightlife experiences

Today, please start the day with a hearty breakfast, then meet us in the lobby at 10:00 AM.

Wear comfortable sneakers—we’ll be doing quite a bit of walking throughout the day.

Visit to Elmina Castle: “Door of No Return”

Today, we’ll visit a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the Door of No Return at Ghana. This is a narrow metal passage that leads directly to the Atlantic Ocean, representing the final departure point for millions of enslaved Africans. The castle/fortress served as a major hub of the transatlantic slave trade.

This stop may be deeply emotional. As people of Afro heritage, we hope standing in this space becomes a powerful reminder of our resilience—that we endured, overcame, and ultimately returned to our homeland.

Lunch & Reflections

We’ll pause for lunch and time for quiet reflection.

Kakum National Park

After lunch, we’ll shift the mood with an experience in Kakum National Park, widely regarded as one of the most majestic rainforests in Ghana. While there, you’ll have the chance to walk the iconic canopy walkway—a series of seven suspension bridges rising up to approximately 40 meters above the forest floor. From this vantage point, you’ll be able to take in breathtaking views of the tropical rainforest canopy.

New Year Kickoff: Names, Service & Detty December Energy

Wear white and bring your school supplies—today we’re giving back to youth and stepping into the new year with purpose.

We’re ringing in the new year with:

- Service to the community

- Your official Ghanaian name

- An epic NYE celebration during Detty December

Day Adventure (White Day!)

We’ll begin with a local village, where you’ll be hosted by the community elders for a traditional naming ceremony.

After you’re welcomed with your new name:

- walk through the village

- introduce yourselves using your Ghanaian name

- share in community and give back to the youth

Then we’ll stop for a local lunch before returning to the hotel to get glammed for NYE!

NYE Tonight

8:00 PM — Meet in the lobby.

Because we’re stepping out… and we’re not coming back until 2027.

A night will be had!

As usual, start the day with a balanced breakfast—and in this case, lunch as well!

Morning: Leisure Time

Today, you’ll have the entire morning at leisure. We had a great time last night and it’s important to rest up.

Real Estate & Homeownership Insights

Later today, we’ll explore real estate opportunities in Ghana and learn directly from industry professionals about the steps to becoming a homeowner—if that’s something you’d like to pursue.

Please meet us in the lobby at 2:00 PM so we can begin our tour.

We’ll be visiting:

- New construction sites

- Established neighborhoods that are especially suitable for first-time homeownership

Dress Code: Business Professional

We’ve gotten a chance to get a feel for the area, and today may even spark interest in purchasing. Since we’ll be talking about serious business and opportunities for international growth, please dress in business professional attire.

Farewell Dinner

To wrap things up, we’ll head to our farewell dinner—a chance to unwind, share our experiences, and toast to an excellent trip that truly offered a little bit of everything.

Today is your final day in Ghana—so make the most of it before your shuttle takes you back to the airport.

Please be sure to leave yourself at least a 3-hour buffer for international flights.
