We experience the Petronio Alvarez, a yearly festival celebrating the Black Pacific of Colombia in Caí, Colombia, -the salsa capital of the world. We will meet AfroColombian artists, activists and entrepreneurs throughout the trip who narrate their own histories. We then head to the Pacific Coast to really appreciate the essence of Petronio's spectacular talents. We visit the rivers and the coast to observe the whales and their young during whale season in Buenaventura, Colombia's most important port city, predominantly Black and learn of the organizing in that space.
