Class Overview

Experience the cozy satisfaction of finger knitting! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll bypass the needles and use your hands to weave plush, jumbo yarn into a beautiful lap-size blanket. Whether you're a seasoned crafter or have never touched yarn in your life, you will leave this class with a finished product ready to keep you warm.

A lifelong fiber artist, Becky brings over 25 years of crochet expertise and specialized mastery in the tactile art of finger knitting to every workshop. As a self-taught creator, she understands the unique journey of a beginner and is dedicated to helping others discover the meditative joy of working with yarn. Becky has spent the last three years perfecting the 'chunky knit' style, turning plush textures into cozy, handcrafted masterpieces.

Materials Needed

To ensure the best results, please bring the following to class:

• 4 Skeins of Jumbo Yarn (Size 7)

  • Note: Please limit your selection to 1 or 2 colors to ensure you can finish your project within the class time frame.

Recommended Options:

• Hobby Lobby: Yarn Bee "Eternal Bliss" * Highly recommended for its texture and durability.

  • Pro-Tip: Hobby Lobby typically puts its yarn on sale every other week!

• Joann Fabrics: Bernat "Blanket Extra Thick"

  • Important: Please ensure you buy "Extra Thick." Do not get "Bernat Blanket Extra," as it is not thick enough for this specific project.

Class Schedule : 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the History Room

Join Us in the Dining Room Our dining room is open from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. We would love to have you dine with us before or after class!

• Before Class: Stop by for breakfast or coffee before we begin at 9:30 AM.

• After Class: Stay for lunch and celebrate your finished project with the group.
