TLDR: World Vegan Travel and Joyful Vegan have spoiled us for traveling any other way but with them. Going to Japan was my husband's lifelong dream and he said our WVT experience was "even better than I had expected from my first Japan trip and I had high expectations." The WVT trip gave us a shiny Whitman's Sampler of many of the bonbons of Japanese culture in a short time and left us more educated on how to possibly come back on our own later for a slower, deeper exploration. But now we're reluctant to do it ourselves because we couldn't do what Seb & Brighde and Joyful Vegan did for us: Plan the perfect variety and whirlwind of activities, scheduled seamlessly and have them come off without an apparent hitch*. We signed up partly because Colleen Patrick-Goudreau would be on the trip and her warm company, sunny hosting, and ability to give context to many culinary aspects elevated the experience. Seb unexpectedly ended up being the sole WVT logistical leader on the ground for this trip and he admirably kept up his high energy and good humor while meticulously managing everything and giving attention to each of us. The many well-organized, thoughtful, informative emails they sent, along with the WhatsApp group and Zoom they set up beforehand minimized the prep and research we had to do ourselves. The accommodations were gorgeous and left us feeling we got more than our money’s worth. Also, we enjoyed the company of the other travelers in the group and appreciated that everyone could keep up quite well. It wasn’t a physical adventure trip but it took a little stamina to keep up with everything. The two days before and after that we spent in Japan on our own impressed on us how much WVT must have had to do to get us so many varied, sumptuous vegan meals across Japan. Managing meal logistics on our own left us cranky and tired and took energy away from other cultural explorations. WVT had left us spoiled. You’ve been warned. ;) *Well, okay, we did have to wait for our bus once for five minutes.

This trip was outstanding in everyway. Every detail was taken care of prior to us arriving. If you are interested in 100% concierge treatment on a trip this is for you. We saw so much in just 10 days. We were on the move most of the time but it was worth seeing all the things we were able to experience. The food, the organizers, the fellow travelers were all wonderful. We left with priceless memories, new friends, and eager to travel with World Vegan Travel again! Until we meet again, Thank You!!

The vegan Japan tour was a wonderful experience where I got to see the culture and beauty of Japan and enjoy delicious Japanese vegan cuisine. The tour was set up that we had local tour guides to show us the local tourist attractions of that area. All travel and meals were taken care of so that I could immerse myself in this cultural experience. One of the best parts of this tour was the private geisha performances and samurai and ninja performances. These cultural experiences would not happen if I had traveled to Japan on my own. The restaurants that offered vegan meals were varied from shoes off sit on the floor traditional experience, to less traditional environment. A fun surprise activity was karaoke in Tokyo, a first for me! This tour is not for someone in fragile health, as the days are long and tightly booked with lots of walking. If I could change one thing of the tour it would be to visit less shrines and temples. They were all beautiful and special, but look basically the same in every city. We visited too many. I liked the samurai castle and gardens in Kanazawa the most. So beautiful! The tour hosts and attendees made the experience super!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us Karen! We're thrilled that you enjoyed the Joyful Vegan Japan Tour and found the cultural immersion and cuisine delightful and that the local tour guides and curated experiences, like the private geisha performances and samurai and ninja demonstrations, added unique value to your trip. We agree, these experiences are unlikely to be had when traveling independently. To address the tightly packed schedule, for those reading this, our approach to group travel is to provide the best possible value and maximize experiences for our travelers for the short time they are in the destination. Given that this was the first-ever vegan group trip to Japan during the cherry blossom season, the schedule was indeed quite tight. We'll certainly work on refining this for future trips. Also, it's important to note for future travelers reading this that hardly any of our activities are compulsory, and there's almost always a way to accommodate those who wish to return home early or opt out of certain activities for a restful evening or sleep in. Also, the activity level is always noted on the trip's webpage. If you have concerns about if this trip is right for you, you are welcome to contact us to have a conversation before booking. Karen, your feedback on the number of temples and shrines is duly noted. While we find them culturally enriching, we'll take your input into consideration for future Japan trips, especially if other travelers on the trip share the sentiment.

Traveling with World Vegan Travel is my favorite way to see the world - I recently completed my 4th trip with the group in 1.5 years! I have traveled to Northern Italy, Botswana, Thailand & Alsace with WVT and each trip has a special place in my heart. Seb and Brighde's attention to detail is impeccable, the accommodations are luxurious, the food is delicious & abundant, and the activities are so much fun! In Thailand, every single day offered a new adventure. We rode bikes, participated in a cooking class, had a day on a catamaran, and toured the canals of Bangkok. One of my favorite aspects of WVT trips is the community of travelers that I have met. I have already coordinated with several of my new friends & fellow WVT travelers to book my next WVT trip. This is the best way to travel!!

Another great trip with WVT completed! I knew the trip would be wonderful based on the high quality and thorough experiences Seb & Brighde work so hard to plan and execute but as always they still managed to blow me away! Traveling with WVT means you will have a 5+ star experience across all fronts - accommodations, transportation, itinerary, food, you name it - but what you really learn to rely on with them are the personalized and above/beyond touches that really solidify them as the best tour and travel group leaders. Plus, they’re such fun to travel and spend your days with! Christmas in Alsace was no exception - the beautiful lodge, thoroughly organized and mapped out itinerary, perfect combination of scheduled outings and free time, delicious food, feeling of safety, and not missing one section of the action or hot spots just to name a few. Of course there is always the risk of a hiccup in any travel but you can count on these two superstars to address and remediate it, before you even know there’s an issue! One note to add - I personally am not vegan but do not let this deter me from traveling. They and their travelers are the most welcoming and I promise promise PROMISE you will not go hungry and have the most amazing food experience of your life. Can’t wait for my next experience with WVT!

My husband and I recently completed World Vegan Travel's tour of Thailand, our third incredible WVT trip. The experience was just as exciting, fun, and well-organized as our previous adventures in France and northern Italy. And the vegan food was delicious and plentiful. The trip was a wonderful experience -- so much so that we've recently booked two more WVT trips for 2024 (Vietnam and Botswana)! We are excited and looking forwards to continuing our travels with WVT.
