After breakfast at the hotel, begin your guided walking tour of Venice. Walk along the Grand Canal to the Rialto Bridge, St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Clock Tower and the Bridge of Sighs, the name of the bridge refers to the sighs of prisoners passing from the courtroom to the cell in which they would serve their sentence. Next, visit the Doge’s Palace, a magnificent palace built in Venetian Gothic style, and one of the main landmarks of the city of Venice. B

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the train station and board your train to Florence. Meet your guide upon arrival to begin a guided walking tour of the city’s highlights, including the Piazza del Duomo with its magnificent cathedral and Baptistery. The Baptistery’s east door is Ghiberti’s Gates of Paradise, a renowned treasure of Renaissance sculpture. Your tour will take you to the Church of San Lorenzo, and the famous Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest bridge over the Arno. Later, see Michelangelo’s famous sculpture of David in the Accademia Museum as you tour its extensive collections. Founded by the powerful Medici family, the museum also houses works by Botticelli, Giambologna and Carravaggio, to name a few. B

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Begin your day with a visit of the incomparable art collections of the Uffizi Gallery. One of the oldest and most famous art museums in the Western world, it is home to a select group of only the finest masterpieces of exceptional value including Leonardo da Vinci’s The Annunciation and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. Remainder of the day at your leisure to discover the many Florentine wonders. B

After breakfast at the hotel, say farewell to Florence,  the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Transfer from the hotel to the train station and board your train to Rome.  Meet your local representative upon arrival to begin a guided tour of Imperial Rome to include the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Forum.  Discover the Colosseum, the largest amphitheater ever built having an average audience of 65,000. It was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts re-enactments of famous battles. Then, take a walk through the epic Roman Forum with the group and imagine how it was when it was the center of day-to-day life in Rome. B

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then board your private motorcoach and set off on a journey to Pompeii, the Roman city both destroyed and preserved by an eruption of Mt. Vesuvius more than 2000 years ago. Today’s guided tour will show you real Roman life in the excavated bakeries, wine shops, groceries, and villas that were buried in ash. Return to Rome for the evening. B

After breakfast at the hotel, immerse yourself in a guided visit of the Vatican and its extensive museums. See displays of Assyrian, Etruscan and Palestinian Antiquities, as well as tapestries, mosaics, ceramics and religious art from several eras. You’ll visit the various apartments, galleries, and chapels, including the Sistine Chapel, home of Michelangelo’s masterpiece ceiling. Your tour also includes St. Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world, and St. Peter’s Square. B
