Join us for an unforgettable expedition to the heart of the Swiss Alps,  Zermatt, where you'll embark on a 5-day hiking adventure filled with stunning landscapes, extraordinary people, and memories that will last a lifetime. Traverse scenic trails with breathtaking views of the majestic Matterhorn and pristine alpine lakes. Experience the vibrant wildflowers of the Edelweiss Höhbalmen Trail and the historic charm of the Bisse du Ro hike. Along the way, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow adventurers and the warm hospitality of the Swiss. Day 1 - Transfer from UK to Switzerland

On Day 1, we will fly from London to Milan Malpensa Airport, which takes  approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. After arriving in Milan, we will collect our luggage and clear customs before transferring from Milan to  Zermatt in our rented Van. Once you arrive in Zermatt, we will check into our private chalet, enjoy dinner at the chalet or a local restaurant, and then relax and unwind for the evening.  

Day 2 - 5 Lakes of Zermatt

On  Day 2, we will transfer to the heart of the Swiss Alps, Zermatt, by taking a local train, as Zermatt is a car-free town. Upon arriving in  Zermatt, we will make our way to the Zermatt-Sunnegga lift, which will transport us up to the picturesque area of Sunnegga. Once we reach  Sunnegga, we will embark on our first day of hiking, exploring the renowned 5 Lakes of Zermatt. This hike will take us through stunning alpine scenery, with each of the five lakes—Stellisee, Grindjisee,  Grünsee, Moosjisee, and Leisee—offering unique and breathtaking views of the Matterhorn and the surrounding mountains. We will take our time to enjoy the natural beauty, take plenty of photos, and perhaps even have a picnic by one of the lakes. After completing the hike, we will return to our apartment, where we can relax and reflect on the day's adventures.

Day 3 - Edelweiss Höhbalmen Trail

On Day 3, we will embark on another hiking adventure, this time exploring the Edelweiss Höhbalmen Trail. Starting our day with a train ride to Zermatt, we will then set out on the trail, immersing ourselves in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The Edelweiss Höhbalmen Trail is known for its stunning views of the Matterhorn, lush meadows, and vibrant wildflowers. We will spend the day hiking, enjoying the breathtaking alpine scenery and the tranquillity of the mountains. After completing the hike, we will take the train back to our chalet, where we can relax and unwind after a fulfilling day in nature. 

Day 4 - Bisse du Ro

On  Day 4, we will leave the Zermatt Valley for a day to hike the beautiful  Bisse du Ro. This trail offers stunning views and a unique experience as we follow the historic irrigation channels carved into the mountainside. We will spend the day enjoying the scenic landscapes,   lush forests, and picturesque vistas, making the most of our time in this beautiful region. After our hike, we will return to our chalet to relax and prepare for the departure day.

Day 5 - Return to UK

On Day 5, the last day of our Swiss adventure, we will bid farewell to Zermatt and start our journey towards Milan Malpensa Airport. However, our trip is not over yet. We will make a pit stop at the beautiful Lake Maggiore to savour our last moments in this stunning region. If time allows, we will also make a quick visit to Milan, exploring a few of its highlights before heading to the airport for our flight home. This will be a perfect way to end our memorable trip, enjoying both the natural beauty of Lake Maggiore and the vibrant atmosphere of Milan.

Travel Terms and Conditions

1. Booking and Reservation

1.1. To reserve a spot on one of our adventure trips, clients must complete a booking form and pay a non-refundable deposit as specified in the trip itinerary.

1.2. Full payment of the trip cost is due no later than 30 days prior  to the departure date. Failure to make full payment by this deadline may result in the cancellation of the reservation.

2. Cancellation Policy

2.1. Clients may cancel their reservation at any time, but the following cancellation fees will apply:


  • More than 60 days before departure: Loss of deposit
  • 60-30 days before departure: 50% of the trip cost
  • Less than 30 days before departure: 100% of the trip cost

2.2. Peak Expeditions reserves the right to cancel any trip due to  insufficient bookings, natural disasters, political instability, or  other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, a full refund will be  provided to clients, and no further liability will be accepted.

3. Travel Insurance

3.1. All clients are required to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and repatriation expenses. Proof of insurance must be provided to Peak Expeditions at least 30 days before the trip's departure.

3.2. Peak Expeditions recommends that clients also consider obtaining coverage for adventure sports and activities specific to their chosen trip.

4. Health and Medical Conditions

4.1. Clients are responsible for assessing their own fitness and suitability for the chosen adventure trip. Peak Expeditions may require a medical certificate for certain high-risk trips.

4.2. Clients must inform Peak Expeditions of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements that may affect their  participation in the trip. This information will be kept confidential  and will only be shared with relevant staff for safety and logistical purposes.

5. Itinerary Changes

5.1. While Peak Expeditions will make every effort to adhere to the planned itinerary, itineraries may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, including weather, safety concerns, or other factors. Any changes will be communicated to clients as soon as possible.

5.2. In the event of itinerary changes, Peak Expeditions will make  reasonable efforts to provide suitable alternatives or compensation as outlined in the trip itinerary.

6. Travel Documents

6.1. Clients are responsible for obtaining and carrying all necessary travel documents, including passports, visas, and any required permits.  Peak Expeditions is not responsible for any costs or issues related to missing or invalid travel documents.

7. Liability

7.1. Peak Expeditions is not responsible for any injuries, accidents,  or damages incurred during the trip, except in cases of negligence by  our staff or contractors.

7.2. Clients are responsible for their personal belongings and  equipment during the trip, and Peak Expeditions is not liable for any loss, theft, or damage to personal property.

7.3. Clients are expected to follow the instructions and guidelines  provided by Peak Expeditions' guides and staff to ensure their safety and the safety of others.

8. Code of Conduct

8.1. Clients are expected to follow the code of conduct provided by  Peak Expeditions, which includes respecting local cultures and  traditions, adhering to safety guidelines, and demonstrating responsible environmental practices.

8.2. Peak Expeditions reserves the right to terminate the participation of any client who engages in behaviour that jeopardizes the safety or well-being of themselves, other clients, or staff, without any liability for a refund.

9. Governing Law

9.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in  accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United  Kingdom.

By booking a trip with Peak Expeditions, clients acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

10. Marketing and Photography

10.1. Peak Expeditions reserves the right to use photographs and videos taken during the trip for marketing and promotional purposes,  including but not limited to our website, social media, and promotional materials. Clients who do not wish to be featured should inform the expedition leader at the start of the trip.

11. Privacy Policy

11.1. Peak Expeditions respects the privacy of our clients. Personal information provided during the booking process will be used solely for trip-related purposes and will not be shared with third parties except as required for trip logistics (e.g., for visa processing).

12. Changes to Terms and Conditions

12.1. Peak Expeditions reserves the right to update or modify these  Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of any changes, and the most recent version will be available on our website.

Day 1

Day 1 image

Transfer from UK to Switzerland

On Day 1, we will fly from London to Milan Malpensa Airport, which takes approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. After arriving in Milan, we will collect our luggage and clear customs before transferring from Milan to Zermatt in our rented Van. Day 2

5 Lakes of Zermatt

On Day 2, we will transfer to the heart of the Swiss Alps, Zermatt, by taking a local train, as Zermatt is a car-free town. Upon arriving in Zermatt, we will make our way to the Zermatt-Sunnegga lift, which will transport us up to the picturesque area of Sunnegga.
