About this trip

We warmly invite you to the mystical lands of Guatemala and Lake Atitlan for this transformational and healing experience.  Few places in the world are more conducive to bring presence, awe and wonder like Lake Atitlan.  Add to that mantra chanting, Kundalini Yoga, cacao ceremony, and Mayan cultural we're all set for one of the best weeks of our lives.  We auspiciously timed it so that the retreat is leading up to the Winter Solstice.  A time where Yogic and Mayan traditions consider to be the most potent times of the year.

This will be our second time returning after an absolutely phenomenal first retreat in 2016.  Please check out this video that was made from this same retreat two years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kWJoykxa75E&feature=youtu.be

This retreat with help deepen your love and practice of chanting, bhakti, kundalini yoga, and ceremony in a majestic and elevating environment.  We will sing and dance our hearts open, rejuvenate, relax, and explore yoga as a practice of embodying spirit in a heart opening and devotional way.  Through daily meditation and chanting you will refine your perspective of these practices and yourself.

The retreat is open to all people and of all levels of yoga and kirtan experience.  Each participant will practice according to their individual needs guided by Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda. Loving care, attention and support for your experience will always be available.  This retreat is truly a gift to yourself!

What people said about the retreat three years ago:

It's hard to find the right words to describe the experience I had with Jaya Lakshmi and Ananda at their retreat in Guatemala, but I'll take a stab at it: "amazing," "divine," and "blissful" come to mind. Nestled upon the shores of beautiful Lake Atitlan, the setting was like paradise, and in addition to our daily yoga practice, we were treated to delicious, organic, locally-produced vegetarian/vegan meals, daily excursions to explore the nearby places of interest, music, storytelling, a cacao ceremony, did I leave anything out? We all bonded as a group and formed lasting friendships in a way that is truly rare. Can't recommend this adventure highly enough!  -Bob MacColl ~Long Beach, CA

Reviews

I absolutely loved this trip! It combined just the perfect set of elements that truly allowed my spirit to soar into a place of pure bliss. Jaya Laksmi and Ananda are beautiful souls and what is transmitted through their music and teaching is something that touches me deeply. I loved the location at the Sacred Earth Temple. The environment was relaxing and absolutely stunning. The circular space of the temple with windows that showed the most amazing view of land meeting ocean meeting sky soothed my soul and activated my senses. I also loved the crytsalline energy in the space. The meals were amazing and I enjoyed the eating area. The accomodations were perfect for me as I kind of love a little more wild and a little less of the day to day conveniences. It was joyful for me to leave my room and walk to the composting toilet especially in the early morning as it gave me an opportunity to see the star lit sky ... I got to see galaxies I never ever would have seen otherwise. I also enjoyed not having electricity. It was a nice contrast and made me feel closer to the earth. I know the one complaint that I heard from others had to do with the accomodations. I feel if this were more designated spaces for retreat participants to stay then some others would have been more comfortable. However, for me personally, I LOVED my bed, my view, my roomate Janelle and having to walk outdoors to use the bathroom and shower. I truly enjoyed all aspects of this trip! The boat rides were exquisiste, the music blew my heart wide open, the Maui land connects me so deeply with the Earth and Sky; the pure love, wisdom, humbleness and playfulness transmitted by Lakshmi and Ananda was a gift (of course:) and all of the particiapants became soul family almost instantly. I am just so happy that I went on this journey! Love Everlasting!
