Ama Yangri Peak Trek is a hidden gem in Nepal’s Helambu region. Located in Sindhupalchowk district, it’s gaining popularity as a stunning hiking destination. Ama Yangri Peak stands at 3,771m, offering breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal Range and Langtang Himalaya Range.

To embark on the trek, start from Kathmandu and drive for about 4 hours to Timbu. From there, hike to Tarke Ghyang, passing through beautiful landscapes and villages. Continue towards Ama Yangri, trekking through dense rhododendron forests and ancient monasteries. Enjoy panoramic Himalayan views before returning to Tarke Ghyang and Timbu, then back to Kathmandu.

The best time to visit is from September to mid-December and March to the first week of June. For permits, foreigners need TIMS and Langtang National Park Entrance Permits.

Drive from Kathmandu to Timbu & Hike to Tarke Ghyang (2,590m)

In the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Timbu. It is a 4-hour drive from Kathmandu. Upon reaching Timbu, we will start our hike to Tarke Ghyang. The trails lead us through the dense forest, where you can see many birds and villages. Tarke Ghyang is located just at the foothills of Tarke Ghyang.
Includes: Private Transport, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking guide, and an overnight accommodation at an available local lodge in Tarke Ghyang.

Hike to Ama Yangri Peak (3,771m) and return to Tarke Gyang

Ama Yangri also considered a hidden gem in Helambu, is worth visiting. Yangri Peak, locally known as Ama Jyomo Yangri, is believed to be the Holy Mountain. In ancient times, it is believed that many Buddhist deities meditated inside the cave. Also, many ancient monasteries and sacred caves are found here.
Includes: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, an English-speaking Trekking guide, and an overnight accommodation at an available local lodge in Tarke Gyang.

Tarke Ghyang to Timbu and Drive back to Kathmandu

Today, you’ll retrace your way back to Timbu via the same route. From here, our private vehicle will drive you back to Kathmandu and drop you off at your hotel.
