About this trip

It is time to reconnect with Nature. In a time when fifty percent of people across the world live in cities, we are further and further distanced from the ecosystems and wild places we come from. Where better to rekindle old connections than a place with the greatest array of life on earth: the Amazon Rainforest. At a remote research station, participants will be immersed in pristine forest, a biological reservoir of unmatched diversity, beauty, and of course, ADVENTURE!

The Las Piedras watershed is located in the sacred headwaters of the Amazon Basin, the system that contains 1/5 of our planet’s fresh water, produces 1/5 of global oxygen, sequesters a substantial amount of the world’s carbon, and is home to more biodiversity and threatened cultures than anywhere else on earth. Here you will have access to places no one has ever set foot. Where the quiet thrumming of the forest is a roar of life. The Amazon is also home to trees, streams, waterfalls, wildlife, and more stars in the sky than you have ever seen before! It is in this incredible, life-altering abundance that you will have the chance to become immersed in nature at a level rarely felt.

This was a trip of a lifetime! Paul and the team did an extraordinary job showing us the Amazon and how important it is to continue their conservation efforts. I can’t wait to go back and see it and do it all over again! The cuisine cooked up by Chef Roy was second to none and the accommodations gave me that true jungle experience. I highly recommend this trip and Tamandua expeditions.
In all respects the expedition exeeded all my expectation. All was well prepared, Holly and JJ had flawless the entire expedition. Despite their youth, the participants were experienced. Inspite of extreme situations, no crisis situations have occured. Mybe one hint. All participants come to see and catch a bigg anaconda spicies which, after telling in these locations, cannot be. In this area would probably be something done. Sasa
This was one of my favorite trips I’ve ever been on. I learned so much about the jungle, conservation and myself, I can’t wait to be a part of another trip like this. Thank you Tamandua!
