A detox is more than juice fasts and fitness fads. Rather it calls us to challenge ideas of perfectionism and patriarchy, worthiness and white supremacy that have shaped our reality and held us back from our wholeness.
The wellness that we are so relentlessly seeking is only possible when we embody a mutual responsibility that goes beyond self care towards collective wellbeing. True healing calls us to unpack and unlearn all that we’ve accumulated along the way: limiting beliefs, habitual patterns, negative thoughts – so that we can break down the barriers and breakthrough to freedom.
In this practice, we will let go of what is holding us back from our wholeness and explore what it is to live into our potential both on and off the mat.

At the end, of the end, of the end of a road, perched atop a remote valley of the Santa Monica mountains, there is the Topanga Commune. 10 acres of meandering paths, oak trees, palms and gardens abutting state land. Only thirty minutes from most of Los Angeles but it feels like a
million miles away.
The Topanga Commune is a place for connection and discovery. It is a place to absorb the wisdom of the world’s greatest teachers. It is a place to slow down and move your brain into long-wave thoughts. It is a place to practice, garden and cook, But, most of all, it is designed to foster deep levels of connection between people in real life. From beautiful practice spaces, to a tea lounge, to countless nooks and epic perches, the Topanga Commune is a place to do just that: commune - with a higher spirit, with nature, and, most of all, with each other.
📍 Address to the property will be given the week before the retreat starts.
A substance-free environment is one in which all guests agree to keep their space free from substances at all times. Substances are defined to include alcohol, cigarettes, other smoking materials, and illicit and illegal drugs.
Close shared spaces
This is a very communal retreat with shared bedrooms and shared bathrooms. Some beds may only be 3 feet apart from each other. If for any reason, you do not feel safe being in such close quarters with other guests due to concerns about Covid-19, it's best not to join this trip and wait until a time that feels best for you.
On one of the afternoons, we will hike to a beautiful labyrinth overlooking the pacific ocean, where we will do an intention-setting meditation and ritual blessing.
There will be plenty of time between sessions to relax and connect with yourself, each other, and the land. Perched on 10 acres, atop a remote valley with beautiful views of the Santa Monica mountains, you can find yourself chilling in the jacuzzi or cedar sauna, swimming in the lap pool, or dunking in the cold plunge. There are also many places for quiet time like the sun patios or cozy up to the large living room fireplace in the 1920s Spanish Mission-style house.
If you feel like an adventure on your own, there are gorgeous hiking trails nearby, and the Pacific Ocean is only 20 minutes away. Or take a drive into town where you can visit all the local shops and artisans as well as wellness services like acupuncture, massage, and facials.
